ok since my front bumper is sitting in my house, I figured i might as well get busy on the grill, this is a new idea, I did a test today with some wood and some heavy aluminum plate, I wanted to find out if it would bend ok without cracking. I'm going to build a wooden buck that fits in the grill, this is to form the aluminum around for the outside of the grill shell, i'll form a strip of aluminum into the shape of the grill opening, then weld several aluminum strips across it to keep it's shape, these strips will also be the anchor for the grill bars. in the final form, the aluminum strip will be above the edge of the wood so the pieces can be welded. the pictures are of a test to see if the aluminum can be formed, i used a body hammer to bend it. the screws hold it in place until it's welded. this is only a test lol.
