Sorry if the answer to this problem has already been posted, but I searched and couldn't find a good match. I have an 86 Accord LX that was having problems idling after it warmed up. I replaced hoses and whatnot, and then had a mechanic look at it who said the timing was messed up on it big time, so he adjusted that and tore part of the carburetor apart, cleaned it, and put it back together. That took care of my idling issue, but now it seems like it is surging or lunging while driving it. It isn't horrible, but noticeable. The fuel pump recently gave out on it and we put a new one in, and it has new fuel filters and a recent tune-up. I don't know if the problem is worse since the timing was adjusted, or if I am just noticing it because I am not concentrating on it dying when I stop. I don't notice it as much during acceleration, but it is noticeable when you are just driving around.
