Im putting a new rack in my accord. I got under it today to start ripping the old one out but noticed the lines coming off the rack are not going to come off in one piece. Just got on majestic Honda and I cant tell what line it is in the pics. I need the largest one that gos to the rack itself.

looked at the car again, it gos from the rack to the cooler up front. Its the largest fitting and line that I can see from the underside of the car coming out of the rack.

I was about to ask how you know you can't remove the line, but your picture pretty much answers that question. The line you seek is #8 in your drawing.

Before giving up on it entirely, why not try soaking with with PB Blaster? You can also spend a few bucks to get a flare nut wrench so you have less risk of rounding it off with your regular open end wrench. Finally, use the tricks in this thread (http://www.3geez.com/forum/showthread.php?t=64355&highlight=frozen+bolts) to get it free. (Just don't try heat because P/S fluid is quite flammable). You'll probably find that spending some quality time getting those lines off will save you time in the long run. Threading new steel lines through the engine well sounds like an easier solution than it's going to be in reality.

Good luck on the repair. Replacing a rack is not one of my happier car repair memories.

thx, being that I'm putting a new rack in the car, I really don't mind replacing a line or two. its not that long. i don't have to run it through the engine bay, only like a foot long before it gos to a rubber hose you can unhook.

also, thx for the tip of PS fluid being flammable, that would have sucked ass.

....I think its number 7 only because nothing about it is 6mm. its not a small line and number 7 is 10mm. any input? just sent the pic to the parts guy at Honda and waiting for a call back.

I was going to use a line wrench, Ive been letting it soke in PB all week so We'll see how it gos this weekend. I orderd the number 7, all the bolts and the two rubber things too. So if I snap the line its no big deal . I have a replacement.
