Did another auto-x today and like last time had loads of fun. This time I had better tires and did trail braking so that helped me out a lot. First two runs I kept going off course because the slaloms were confusing. 3rd run was a fairly clean run and my best run. 4th run was a fairly clean run until I trail braked into a slalom and the rear end came out. I ended up going sideways into the cones:tongue:.

Here the videos for runs 3 and 4.

Great video! Don't worry about the first few times you go out... after a while it gets easier to learn the course. Man I need to hit up an autocross STAT.

This time I was more focused on learning how to trail brake. This car really breaks the rear end out when you trail brake. Either way, can't wait for the next event.

lol wrong.

You just need to slow down less. That's what r-comps are for. And better susp.

better suspension = less slow-down for turns

and say bye bye to body roll.

If I run r-comps on my stock suspension I risk flipping the car. A Ford Focus did that an event here, flipped it.

I accept donations for suspension.

Fine, just get better tires then.

My points stands that power is NOT the answer for autox.

I know its not the answer, but a little more than what an A20 carburetored has would be better.

Meh.

I was 2nd overall at local autox 2 weeks ago -- fastest car was a miata on r-comps. His car makes like 100whp. Mine makes 230whp.

Only thing I haven't done in the suspension are the springs and shocks. I even have LX-i sway bars that are bigger than stock LX not to mention LX didn't even have a rear one.

I doubt he flipped because of r-comps. People run them all the time and don't flip. It was a fluke.

get a webber .38 and blaster coil(i know the coil doesn't make a performance difference but it does help with response and a smoother rev it did on both of my cars atlest) and your be set on power maybe a bigger exhaust.. but mainly focus on suspension!
wider tires too

I can't do anything to the engine other than exhaust because of emissions. When the car is 25 years of age, then I can do engine work. Until then, I need to save money for the BMW because it needs a transmission swap soon.
