In Texas you just pay an annual registration fee that is initially based upon the age of the car. It starts out at a maximum of around $70 for a new car and by the time it is about five years old it has dropped to $55. That's what I have been paying for mine for years. Dallas County has an annual personal property tax you have to pay based upon th car's value, but since I live in Denton County I do not have to pay that.

Do you have to pay obligatory traffic insurance for over 900 usd / year? For each car.

Not talking about any insurance you might chose to have, but one that without it driving the car would be illegal.

This insurance doesn't even cover your car, only damages you may cause to others.

since my accord's registration was suspended due to not passing emissions last year I did not get it this year. I fully expect for it to find me at some point though.

for my '94 integra it is $58. The way it works here is the when you register the car it is registered to the town you live in. Then each town has it's own mill rate. So it could be $58 for my town, but higher or maybe lower in the next town over.

$255 per car if you live where there's public transport available. $230 otherwise.

Fun huh!

Yes, I currently pay $109/mo for REQUIRED insurance for my cars. But that is all 3 of my cars. :) I had it down to about $30/mo when I just had one car, but esurance keeps jacking up my rates. Fuckers. I hate that company. I need to change insurance stat.

I have my car registered in Northern Ireland and it cost 120 english pounds. If I had it registered across the border in the Republic of Ireland (where i am originally from) which is a quarter of a mile away it would be 900 european euro! and thats for a 2004 accord 2.2 diesel.

that makes me feel better about the price of keeping my car on the road legally :) insurance isn't compulsory here (yet) so that's one less bill for me to worry about

6 months wof (inspection) is around $50NZD 6 months rego is like $125 so yeah about $350 to keep my car on the road. then theres the petrol, $1.58 a liter, $1 of thats fucking tax. no compulsary insurance yet, i bet once they do insurance companies will up their prices just because they can.

they have recently put our registration up like $50 a year because of all the bullshit dumbfucks that cant drive, crash and live on compensation from the govt until they are well enough to work. fuck it annoys me how people that drive drunk/do drugs/speed/have demerit points on their licences still get their compensation when they fuck up. they should just say no your not entitled.

$30 something if I'm not mistaken. We're taxed by displacement so the bigger your engine is, the $$$ it is. Gay.

If I remember right the TL is right around 100 bucks, then my two bikes are 19 dollars each to register.
