Oil will not increase horsepower. It will prevent wear tough.

Alot of people have close to 200 000 miles on their car..... so wear is not a problem with the A20A :)

It actually does increase HP but I think it's a waste for our A20. I've read a few articles in the magazines here and in Japan but it added like 1-3HP or something in a Skyline.

Using alighter weight oil would reduce the viscous friction in the engine so you'd end up with slightly more power at the flywheel. Of course it would only be a tiny amount (1-3 hp for a Skyline is a tiny % of the total horsepower). The stuff is probably really expensive since they had to add enough additives so that the oil can act really light weight but still provide enough protection to the engine.

Less friction = Parasitic energy loss

A article in Hot Rod - "Engines" special issue
Royal Purple inpoved 7Hp and 10 lb-ft of torque compared to regular oil but this was in a 450hp 500 lb-ft of torque engine.
This was not a advertisement just trying to get engine to 500 lb-ft of torque

clearing things up
