Thanks guys! I know taking 1st in a novice class isn't much to brag about, but I'll take what I can get.
I'm about 5 SECONDS off the pace of the regular street mod class:ugh:

The pictures are all from links on baautox.com.

2 things: My integra gearbox and my reground camshaft.

But even without those I still wouldn't be able to run stock because of my suspension mods. I would be in street touring. I don't know if that would be better or worse, because then I would have to contend with the horde of '89 civic si's.

You should learn to fib a little........

Well if they bumped you up are you going to go up to 17" rims?

Probably not. If I was gonna go wide I'd get 16x9 wheels and run 275/45/16 A6's. But that would cost about 2 grand. And then I'd need to buy stiffer springs too because all that grip would lean my car over like crazy.

For now I'll just finish out the season in novice on my bald g-force sports. They have a regional street tire category for street modified and street prepared class. I'll probably run that next year with the stickiest street tire I can afford (probably kumho xs).

F@ck. I'd have to get the konis revalved too if i got stiffer springs. Forget that $$$.

Around here you only get to run novice for your first autocross.

After that you're in class (or you can run NFP).

I think you can do up to 9 events novice for San Francisco. Sacramento doesn't do novice at all.

Fuck yes, I would love to see some fat fucking 275s on an Accord! That shit would be a beast!!

Car probably couldn't actually accelerate with 275s lolol.

Slow accord is sloooow.

+1 haha...

Look out for those XS's, they are oneof the best street tire out there at the moment, but they wear out (e.g. totally 'bald') in 15-20k miles of easy commuting with 2-3 autox events.

Go for some cantilever slicks! ;)

Strugglebucket
08-02-2009, 12:18 PM
eh, I ride my bike to work every day so I'm not too worried about the mileage.

Cantilever slicks? That would cut down on wheel weight but how much over-width can you get away with before the handling gets all mushy?
...Not that I'm planning on getting slicks anytime soon. I still can't drive worth a crap.

The cantilever tires have very stiff sidewalls, but yes, they don't have as much transient response as normal sidewalls. Some of the pro guys around here use a 2-3" increase in width with no adverse handling characteristics...

someone on GRM has a great price for a set:
