View Full Version : Gsr manifold on an a20?

I tried searching and couldn't find my answer ( i apologize if this has been answered somewhere) but my friend has a TYPE-R manifold he might sell me from his old integra and i was wondering if anyone knows for sure if this would fit the a20 (obviously not just bolt on) but....

The reason i ask is because i have heard of people with b16's using the Type R manifold (which is off a B18c1 if i'm not mistaken, either that or a B18C5 but that is neither here nor there) because it flows better. I know that we can modify the b16 manifolds to fit our cars and was wondering if anyone has tried this (i don't see why it wouldn't work)

I meant a type-r manifold (the gsr is completely different and will not fit), i keep finding them for pretty cheap

B series will fit...idk some gsrs have there shit backwards...mean the running go down then TB is sitting very low. i dont think that would work

most of the b18c motors i've come across are the ones with the tb mounted low where the b16a inlet has it mounted high up.
could be worth investigating tho.

well i'm going to try and convince him to let me borrow it so i can test it out, i figure it might be worth trying, i did notice the runners and the TB position but i will just have to fit it up and see if it will hit anything

B16 / B18C5 manifolds fit like a dream. I can't speak for the fitment of the B18C1 GSR manifold, but I would suspect you might have trouble.

I bought a cheapo ebay manifold for a 'type-r' though, and it bolted on with the expected amount of effort. :)

Look....just get one and try it...ONly way your going to learn is that you try things...when it comes to are accords you got to learn the trail and error stage..your never going to learn UNLESS your try it. a maybe it well maybe it wont work....all depending on the installer and if he has the brains...you might to redo your dog bone...add a damper kit like the civics in order to take this task on.....i know if it was me i could prolly make it work..but for what. just like bobafett said
B16 / B18C5 manifolds fit like a dream......why run a gsr low mount when you prolly gain the same or even more numbers with the b16/typer mani.....Think bout it.....

IF your getting it for free shit test it bro. a youll be one of the few or should say JUST YOU to run a lower mount because since i was on here i never seen it done.

b16 or typeR (b18c5 I think)

You will hae to redrill the top 3 mount holes and cut off the side with the coolat hose

GSR has a differnt bolt spacing and will not fit.

The B18C1 (GS-R) Manifold will NOT fit

The ports are different.

i just noticed i forgot to take out a GSR that stuck in my old post that would have avoided some confusion. :banghead:

I am very aware that the GSR manifold won't work (it is completely different)
i was curious if anyone had used the type r and noticed a difference than just the b16 (i guess the type r flows better) but at least i know it will fit

sorry to waste your time with my crappy proofreading and superfluous posts that followed, but now i can get his manifold (which is a type r) and put it on knowing it will work

Sorry to butt in but how hard is it to hook up a b-series intake other than drilling holes.

if you want one from a stock car get one from an integra type r, if you want an even better one buy an aftermarket one like a skunk2 for a b series

What year integra.
1997-2001 for the type R or you can use any b series manifold from like 1993-2001 (if i remember right) i don't feel like searching

Thanks,is it hard to hook up everything.I know you have to drill 3 holes and cut off coolant tubes, but how hard is it to put everything back on.

this wont help if you dont have a cam or headers...i think i lost power when i did this mod because my tune was off....always tune a car...i didnt have time

a tune is very important ^_^ and yes this mod will be pointless without a better cam and exhaust (you might gain a teensie bit, but really not worth it unless you go all the way with I/H/E and a cam.... thats why im waiting to do this one)

I have a skunk2 B18c1 mani and the ports line up fine. I will take a picture of the a20 gasket on top of the manifold. The manifold will need to be re-drilled on the top 3 holes.
