I don't think he knows a whole lot about the car...since my car is older and has EFI lol....but its got around 267k, heat works, ac doesn't. thats all I know about it at this point.

Where I live, I can get an SE-i in mint condition for that price (with the same mileage, ha). I wouldn't pay $1,000 for that car. Buy it and sell me the trunk rack.

Definitely not the first year of EFi but you already said that. I need to start reading, rather than skimming.

I'm serious about the trunk rack.

yeah i know.....considering i've got an 87 with it......I'm actually workin out a deal with him to trade a pistol and a rifle for it...so I've got around.......800-900 in it on my end, it just seems off since I bought an 87 with 10k less for only 350 in pretty much the same condition....I have been hunting a straight drive though....i just sent another email asking about clutch/engine rebuilds.... hopefully get to call him..I wanna be sure about this first cause it's a 2 hour drive one way to this guy

My second '89 LX-i had 263k miles on it when I bought it (265k now), and I only paid $300.

ok so I talked to the guy again and here's what I found out:

interior is immaculate he says
he's the second owner, previously bought from senior citizens, never smoked in.
year old tires, new alternator and battery, he's owned it for the last 2 years.

ac needs a pressure switch for the compressor to work...he said honda dealer went over AC system and repaired all issues before that, he says he has all records starting from when the car was new.....so I do believe I'm gonna try to grab this

personally, I wouldnt pay 1k for a car with 267k miles on it....

Then again, I wouldnt buy a car period with that many miles on it.

i bought a car once with 33000 miles on it for a hundred dollars and it lasted me a month and a half lol i will never buy a car with more than 150k miles again because all the other cars i had lasted me. hopefully it has had the routine maitnence done to it and will be ok. i say if you want it go for it

he says he's got all the records from where it was bought...the way he described it he's got "folders" full of stuff.... if i get it I"m more than likely gonna park my 87 lxi auto and use it for parts..but.....haven't heard back from him yet on trading....cause it's not gonna cost me anything out of pocket other than driving up there to pick it up... and by the way....what happened to the car you bought that only lasted you a month and a half? my 3 gee runs fine except for a small oil leak that i think is the oil filter housing gasket.....and its only got 5k less than this car..I'm almost up to 263k on this one....

Buy it, See if you can get a compression check. Easy if you do it yourself. Ask about timing belt, check the CV boots. Sounds like a good trade.

well now the guy is wanting to be a douche and change his mind right when I'm about to leave to go pick the car up! now he says instead of trading straight i can trade him my pistol thats worth like 550 to 650 and 700 bucks....i told him he can keep his car. what a waste of a thread. at least i found out before i drove the 2 hours to pick it up.....

It doesn't look half as good as either of the SE-i's near me, both for that price.

Trunk rack.
