Do you think battery was a contributing factor to the front rust? I hate that the battery tray is welded in so you can't clean the crevices under it properly... & why I removed it from my '79 & made up different battery mountings.
Just last week I added seam-sealer to seal the joint between chassis rail & inner guard on my '77 before repainting the area which had partially been stripped of paint, since that's staying original.

Wow! Still it is hard to believe that a car as clean as yours had that much rust! Your car looks so nice! Keep us up to date with the progress! Can't wait to see it done!! :)
