I PICKED UP A SPARE A20. THEN I DECIDED TO DO SOME MODS WHILE ITS ON THE STAND. HOW DO THESE SOUND. PORTED POLISHED, AND MATCHED HEAD, INTAKE, HEADER. BORED 30OVER, CAM, BIGGER INJECTORS, FUEL RAIL AND PUMP.ALSO HI FLOW CONVERTER, 2 1/4 CAT BACK EXAUST. WHAT WILL THIS DO FOR ME, AND AM I MISSING SOMETHING?

P.S. I HAVEN'T BEEN AROUND MUCH, CAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE MUCH TO SAY, BUT I'VE BEEN WATCHING....LOL:D

Sounds like it'll run in the 15s depending on how big you go on the cam.

if ur not gonna put 3 grand on a turbo, i would say u get higher compression forged pistons if ur real hard core about hp gains. that would be a good mod under 1000 bucks, which is like the max for pisons, rods and rings. how about changing to an aluminum flywheel and getting a 1st gen INtegra tranny (am i right on that?) cause of higher gear ratios.

if u race someone, dont use ur 18" wheels, use ur stock ones.

have fun.

WHAT KIND OF COMPRESSION ARE WE TALKING ABOUT? ALSO WHAT DO YOU THINK HP GAINS WOULD BE?

maybe throw some nos in it?

Sounds like your trying to go all motor if so.....go around 12.5 to 1 or maybe higher depending on how high octane you use. If you want to be flexible and have a stout motor but add just a tad of boost or nos in the future do a 10 or 11 to1 depending on boost pressures and if you want to do a turbo with boost climbing into double figures you will surely have to run 8.5 to 9 to 1 compression.

He has 10:1 pistons and wishes he would've gotten 11:1. Might wanna talk to him about it.

I hope you retard you ignition timing or run 110 octane with the 11:1 CR
BTW when did he say he was going Turbo?

I DIDN'T SAY I WAS GOING TURBO...

the s2000 has 11 to 1 pistons stock and i don't see them pulling up to airports to refuel

You should be ok with 93, make sure that you're not leaning out anywhere though. And you might want to bump the timing back slightly. Keep an ear out for knocks.

and thats why i used the word IF. as in, if he is not planning to go turbo. (he did not say that, but i did not know if he was thinking about it).

on the 110 octane, only certain Sunocos have 100 octane and u know how much they are? 4.25 bucks a gallon. Yeah, how do i know it? Thats what we get for our SAE car. to test drive that demon. premium unleaded should be just fine, but be easy on ur compression and do make sure. u dont band your cylinder heads.

and yeah, good luck with ur project. have fun. planning to rebuild ur engine? posts some pics of it. i would die to see the look of the rebuilt engine.

I said he should retard his ignition timing or run 110 octane... it's perfectly reasonable.
