what makes the front look good is to make a real grill for it, and if you can get ahold of them, get the euro spec turn signals, they have both a parking lamp and a turn signal. they only fit the 87-87 bumpers and hatch bumpers though.

I'm pretty sure it is, because even though the coupe was available in '87, it was still an '88 model. That car was probably in a fender-bender and needed the bumper and corner lights.

If you mean the chrome strip at the top of the grille like in your signature (oem) then yes. The DX (at least mine, which was straight from factory) has a black rubber cover on the chrome strip. Just grab hold of it and yank, then viola you have chrome. Woohoo.
Yes, regarding the prefacelift bumper with facelift grille, eyelids, and corners... ...that my friend is the BEST combo if I don't say so myself. I do really like the facelift bumper thought too. :dunno:

I dont like the pre facelafy bumpers. I cant get past how cheap the markers look with 2 screws in them. It would be like face nailing a hardwood floor. Just ugly. Ive always like the clear markers from the 88-89 and you cant see any mounting holes. Im not sure on the grill. i wasnt aware there is a difference other then the design of the brows, grill corners and side markers. I thought all the grills had a chrome strip?

if you have the chrome grill scuff it with red scotchbrite and use the duplicolor trim paint on it, it gives the semi flat look of the oem black.

x2 i read the difference but can't quite put it together in my head, i tried googling pics of both but i either get pics from 3geez (which are most likely modified) or crappy pics from other places, the only difference i saw was the turn signals
Pre-facelift:

Facelift:
http://i957.photobucket.com/albums/ae56/geej07_ca5/P9080497.jpg
The upper half of the pre-facelift has a recess that matches the grille, and the lower half appears to have a steeper angle. And the eyelids are a slightly different pattern. You can't see it on geej's 88, but the black trim that goes all the way around 87roach's grille changed to a single chrome strip that covers the top edge of the facelifted grille.

Is there a difference between the '86/87 and '88/89 JDM or EDM corners? How come the EDM corners are so different? They're the clear ones, right?
do the aerodeck corners lack indicator lights in them?> or is that just a edm aerodeck thing?
carotman
10-07-2009, 04:55 PM
They don't have indicators in them indeed. EDM Aerodecks have the indocator on the fender close to the ront door.
However, the spot to install one is there but it's blocked. All you have to do is drill out the hole and put an indicator in it.
That's what I did and I used an orange bulb.

Hey guys to those who cant tell the difference in yet, all of the differences can be seen from these pictures:
Heres the pre-facelift:
It came with orange reflectors, a indent across the top center of the bumper, a the bottom half of the bumper creeps farther under the car at a steeper angle, and there is no actual trim.
http://i679.photobucket.com/albums/vv153/dacantu/IMG_0545-1.jpg
Heres the face lift:
It came with clear reflectors that have a orange reflector within them that can be removed just like in this picture, the top of the bumper is flat all the way across, the bottom half of the bumper is not nearly as angled, and the trim on above the turn signals that runs across it matches the door trims.

I dont know man im gonna have to say they might be fairly simple but that adds to making your car look clean. When you have all these different shades of orange on our corners and bumper turn signals its not a clean look same goes for all the shades of grayish brown that come along with our oem corners the grill and eyebrows it just looks dirty IMO. I wish there were a way to preserve 1 color on all of our trim/lights/plastic peices
