View Full Version : Interior Question
First off, let me say thanks for all the help I've been getting with my questions.
I have a question about the interior. My Stock SEi seats have seen better days. I bought some seat covers and they look pretty good. But what I need to know is what other years seats front and back can fit into my car? Does any other year bolt right in, or will a track swap be necessary?
I dont mind doing a track swap If I have to, but what about the back seats?
I found this on craigslist and was wondering if anyone knows if they'll work.

Thanks guys!!

As far as the back seat I would say no. The fronts may work but you will have to get custom to make them bolt in. The other problem is that the 82-85 Accord is a compact car whereas the 94-97 Accord is a midsize so the width of the seat is going to be a factor as well. Any 82-85 Accord seats will bolt in, front and rear. Any 83-87 Prelude fronts will bolt in and I've heard 86-89 Accord fronts will too if you swap rails? As far as any others, trial and error my friend.

I have been told that they will if you swap the rails with a 2g? I have never tried it myself however, because they aren't much different from 2g seats and so are not much of an upgrade. I think the next time I go to Pick N Pull I will try this out to find out for sure. The 2g Prelude seats are much better in my opinion, if you can find any in decent shape. That's what I had in my 84 and all I had to do was swap rails.

if the third gen prelude and accord share the same seat rails, then no it is far from fitting the 2nd gen accords. they where way wider and bolted to the floor flat in the back and not on a angle like our cars

Yeah, I wasn't quite sure if what I heard was correct or not having never actually tried it myself. Just by looking at them the 3g seats do seem a bit wider too. 2g prelude seats are much nicer than 3g accords in my opinion anyway.

are the seat frames shot? if they are good, check with an upholsterer and see how much it would cost to recover them. I'm not sure if they still carry it, but JC whitney used to carry some specific fit upholstery covers, they attached permanently with hog rings, and each one was made for a specific car.
