Just got finished making a couple of phone calls and it looks like i only have 2 choices for clubs to autocross with: scca solo2 and the local bmw club (which wil let me autocross with their club at qualcomm stadium in the course they setup in the parking lot) which is the one ill probably join. I forgot how expensive racing is :sad2: its $40 to join the club and $60 for each autocross event.... (but its the only one since scca solo would be too competitive for me right now, and im pretty sure my car won't pass their specs)

Does anyone know if i have any other options? how much is it for you to race where you live?

$60 per event? That seems kinda expensive.

Around here the San Francisco SCCA events are $35 and all the other ones I've been to in the bay area are $30.

Yeah what a rip off. They're just trying to keep the car count low, I'd guess. There HAS to be something else. The SCCA ones usually aren't that expensive, but I've seen them in Portland as high as $50.

I'd say that if your car will pass yearly inspection, it should pass an SCCA inspection.

that's what I do here every 2 weeks during late spring threw fall.

But I always come at the bottom of the brackets, drag racing is not nearly as fun as swirly racing.

>.> but then again I have to race a bunch of kids who race daddies mustang, or don't know crap about there car and pay shops for all the work.

$60 for an event is exorbitant, especially if you're paying member dues on top of that.

Metro Porsche Club of America here is $30/event for members
NY BMW Club is $35 for members
NY Region SCCA is $40 for members

We usually get about 6-8 runs in each event, how about you guys?
