Recently I resurrected the a/c on the car. Before, the car regularly got 30-31 mpg in town. Now it has dropped to 20 mpg in town. Sanity check anyone?

My fix will be to go with a Weber. But all my car projects are stacking up....arghhhh!

Cheers,

Roland

I run the A/C all the time and get 20 in city drving and 25 on I-95 trips. That's with a 50/50 mixture of driving with a lead foot and driving like an egg is betwen my foot and the gas pedal.

i get about 32-35 with out anything on and a mixture of driving...town and Highway.

the ac uses alot of gas since your car is running under such a heavy load all the time..

I started to sputter now and then over the last few weeks..and I had noticed mileage was at 25 ( 90 highway 10 city daily)with the new coil I'm back to 30 with moderate a/c and I drive easy, I let the obstacles drive around me..easier on the heart too. The first time the coil went flaky, I didn't recognize it as a possible problem..I'll spare the story, but a melted cat was the lead player while I played the fiddle

i am getting 27 constant on average between city and highway. and i am crancking my engine up to 6K most of the time.
if i drive like a grandma, i would get around 35 on average.
oh yeah the only think i change on my carb is got rid of vacuum secondary, it is manual right now.
