Hi everyone. I am new to 3geez. I am 16 and am getting a 1987 honda accord 4 door. When i start the car it smokes a lot. I think its the belt but not sure. It doesnt smoke as much once you start driving. Any ideas? Oh and i am paying 300 for it. It has 128k miles on it no body damage on it mint interior. Think its a good buy?

Smoking at the front of the car or out the back? If its from the front, check the PCV Valve.

If it smokes on start up, it's probably the valve stem seals leaking oil past them into the combustion chamber.

Hey my first Accord was 300$ when I was 16.

Might want to make sure it does not need to pass emissions in your area or does it passes for another year.

Smoke from the engine compartment is usually a leak. Smoke from the tail pipe is something wrong with the motor.
