the center vents really aren't supposed to come out, it can be done but usually they break, on my new dash they were trashed,so i need to carefully remove the ones on my old dash, you need the dash out to remove them, because the tabs holding them in can only be reached when it's out.

All i can say is that they don't come easy. Mine were stuck and all i did was spray some WD-40 and got lucky. But my other Accord was vendalized during Katrina they broke one of the center vents I just left it the way it is.
