What can i use to paint the needles to light up. I have the indiglow gauges i always hated that i couldnt see my needles. I asked david and he said to paint then with White nail polish and it should work. I DO have uv leds on top but the stock white on the needles dont light up for shit. ....

So waht im trying to say is I have UV leds on top and im looking for a paint or w/e so the UV can make that paint or w/e glow.

SI COPREDAY LOL

LET ME KNOW...i want to do this b4 the meet. its really gay i tell you.

I bought some fluorescent orange Testors (plastic model) paint when I had my cluster apart last time. I don't have indiglo or LED's, but I like the orange much better than white.

Testors is pretty good stuff. Hobby Lobby (dunno if yall have those on the west coast) does NOT carry it.

where do you get the UV leds? I saw some clear Uv reactive paint on there, it would be nice to keep the stock illumination and yet make the needles glow at night.

I actually think I got my Testors orange paint at Wal Mart, but they have really cut down on the nunmber of items they carry in the stores. It's part of the overall strategy to give the stores a new look. Other than that there's Hobby places and craft stores.

This set has several colors: http://www.scalehobbyist.com/catagories/Paint_and_Construction/TES00009132/product.php

Never thought of sporting goods stores, but there's this...

I did a very light coat on mine and the only thing it affects is the gas needle. When the car is powered off it doesnt stay in the same spot like it should. It goes down to E. when the car is turned on it goes right back up to where its supposed to be. No ther ill affects otherwise.

Dennis, did you take the gauge itself out of the cluster? I notice this too, except mine only goes down halfway. What i think the problem is the motor in the back of the gauge is not ALL the way tight, as the connection to the gauge from the cluster is through these bolts. You have to be ridiculous careful with these two gauges though, because the SLIGHTEST amount of torque on that bolt will destroy the gauge.

Really? mine always went down after power off. must be a 88/89 accord Thing. BUt you have a hatch which is 86/87 so idk...Mine gas needle always went down after shut off. the only one that stayed was the temp but it would go down after awhile.

I agree. Thats why i just tapped mine down....and sanded them a bit then layed some coats....

I don't think any of them are supposed to go down. They did have hatches in 88-89 too, they just kept the pre-facelift bumpers.

ummmm. Really well as long as it works thats all that matters to me. BUT if it becomes a issue i well certainly fix it.

but as long as it marks it right where it was before it should be fine cause most cars have electic ones and go down when off its like the tach kinda my uncles yukon gas needle gos down and as soon as as you turn it on it goes back up

and rendon you wanna kill some fuus on the MW2??
