Okay so I kinda have a problem
Drove my car today and when the choke is off
The car stalls, even when it's on temp.

After it stalls it's pretty hard to start up again..
Had to push it of the lane in front of a traffic light
today so yeah that really sucks..

Haven't really checked under the hood but what can
cause this? Blown head gasket? Fuel leak or something?

Thanks in advance

Bart

No one?
Really need this sorted out..
tried to get it on tape and ofcourse the problem stopped
while 2 minutes before it was still there..

you might say sorted then
but I want to be sure I don't stall in front of a traffic light again

Have you tried cleaning out your carburettor ?
If it only happens when the choke is off , Then it most definitely is a carburettor problem.

Got in on vid, so it's still not over
So I have the choke on at first
then when I turn it off the refs fall back to zero and it stalls

So does this only happen with the throttle closed? Will it keep running if you keep your foot on the gas?

.:dutchtuner:.
11-17-2009, 01:55 PM
yes, as long as it's making refs it doenst stall

When something like this happened to me it turned out that the idle jet in the carb was plugged up. After I took it out and cleaned it, it idled fine.

Yeah check and clean the idle jets, and also there is an idle adjustment screw on the back of the carb, usually a big black knob and you can turn it to adjust the idle up and down. I'm betting if you just turn it up, it will idle just fine.

okay so I tried the idle knob
Seemed to work
but after like 10 minutes of driving the problem was back.
Found something out though
Even on like 4000 refs the car stalls when I push the clutch :S

The ride gets kinda stuttering @ low reffs as well
Doesn't sound so well with the choke on either

Might even be the ignition?
Weird thing is that then It should happen all the time right?

Okay so first I turn of the choke.
Give it some gas so it doesn't stall and then press
the clutch and then it stalls.

Then when cranking it I have to give it a tad of gas
to get it running again
