what year vigor did you use. and did it work for front and rear? did you just cut the whole in the bushing bigger to fit the bar into the connector or would that effect the performance of the bushing

it was a rear one, i think the bushing was too big so i cut it down and made it fit really tight, probably not the best thing to do, but its better than no rear sway bar :D i cant remember what year it was, i think its the CB5 shape

You can grab the bar off of any LXi model. The 88 and 89 have a larger rear bar. All of the mounting hardware is needed, but all of the threaded holes and attachment points are already on your car.

Sparkmaster, where do you live? I have a bar in my back yard that I'd pull and install for you for a modest amount of cash.

I used one off of a 92 Acura Vigor. I already had a factory bar though. I used my factory endlinks and the frame brackets off of the Acura. I had to do quite a bit of grinding on the frame bracket but it works great. The car rides so much better. As stated above lx-i's already come with the rear bar so that is the easiest option. As for the front bar swap LX'i's have a bigger bar also. But jmho just adding the rear bar will do wonders for your handling.

Shipping it would cost as much as buying the bar from the junkyard yourself. You would also see how it's attached for yourself. It shouldn't take more than about 20 minutes to pull one your first time unless you encounter stuck bolts.

would it be best to use all the hardwhear from it to or try to find new stuff and where would i find new bushings if them are worn?

I JUST put a 4g rear sway bar on my DX. It fit pretty good, but I think I need the 3g frame mounts to make it right.

Nice, I've often wondered which year(s) of the vigors would fit us. I'm going to raid the JY for black friday! Upon further research (google ftw) Vigors where only made from 92 - 94 so the search shouldnt be too hard lol

It's REALLY hard to find Vigors... At least around here.

guess i will call around tomaroow then and see itf any junk yards have any lxis around hear and just make sure they take off all the hardwhear or take it off myself. then all i should have to do is change the bushings and it should fit right under my car right? and i dont have a dx i have an lx

I think LX's have a rear bar. The 90-94's are really common in the Junkyards, and they have a slightly bigger bar. All you need are the frame-mounts.

mine is an lx and it doesnt have a bar but it does have the holes drilled for it. and i dont think a 90-94 will fit just the 3 gen and the acura vigor but i dont want to have to mod it to get it to fit cause i dont have the time or the tools

I'd imagine it would be a pain in the @$$ to ship. If I haven't gotten it before the Big Meet in the summer, and if you will be attending, what would you want for it?

The 4th gen fits really easy, you just need the LX-I frame mounts, cuz the 4th gen have a slightly different angle.

sparkmaster123

4th gen lxi or 3 gen lxi mounts?

Bass Man
11-25-2009, 11:13 AM
3g lxi frame mounts. I'm not 100% on this, cuz I just used the whole setup from the 4g and tightened the 1 bolt I could make fit till it was pretty tight, which isn't good.

sparkmaster123

so if i just unbolted the 3 g frame mounts off of a 3g a 4th gen bar would bolt right up?

Bass Man

I think so.

Just an fyi, I misspoke I used the frame mounts off of my original bar. Sorry for error. I just had to grind out the slot so the bigger rubber bar bracket would work on the original frame bracket.

frantik

the 4g bar is slightly bigger so you might have to cut away some of the bushing on your 3g frame mounts

i have a vigor bar in the back it's nice
