Just in case you need a corroborating answer, yes, it is 3 quarts.

I have used Mobil 1, or other brands of synthetic transmission fluid with good results. I have seen a synthetic Trick Shift at Pep Boys for the same price (about $5 a quart) I would the whole three quarts all synthetic. After I changed mine the second time with synthetic I widened the change interval. I used to go every 15K miles and now I go 30 or more. I know the owner's manual says every 30 for Honda fluid, but I found that you can never change tranny fluid too often. That's why my 72 Pontiac had 212/k miles on its original tranny and was fine when I sold it and why I have 199K on the Accord tranny with no problems.

I noticed that the shifts get a bit firmer with the synthetic fluid which is actually a good thing for longevity because it indicates less slippage between the clutch plates. The 3G had a great automatic gearbox either way. Mom and Pops complained about the "noticeable" shifts, but that's what made it a better automatic for those of use who want to minimize the drawbakcs of an auto!

Have fun with it, it's a hell of a lot easier to do than cars with pans, gaskets, and filters.

i used the pennzoil Special import ATF,

later i may switch to the Trickshift, that shit is so damn expesive, but i have heard it is really woth it, its great for racing and stuff like that.

does anyone know if 1 bottle of the trick shift is equal to 1 guart? cuz the trickshift bottles are smaller i think. some one help me out here. thanx

haha yes I love it. I used to drive an automatic 96 corolla and you couldn't even tell if shifted or not.. not to mention the engine was dead quiet (something I hate).
