everything under the hood corroded

stupid weather, it's heavy fog one minute,followed by the temp dropping into the 30's, it's caused condensation to soak everything in the garage, i opened the hood the other day and water was everywhere. So a lot of aluminum started corroding, I'm cleaning and painting and clearcoating everything now, starting here:

Either I'm beyond stupid, or just blind, or you guys have difference colored corrosion than we do, because I don't see anything.

Sex.it's just the way the picture came out, the flash washed it out. it's white powdery stuff from the aluminum, everything is coated with the minerals that precipitated out of the water. a lot of people think that water that evaporates is clean, it's actually full of minerals. we have a lot of this problem at work with stock aluminum on the shelves. what was happening is everything including inside of the garage was socked in with fog, it's an old garage, not vapor proof, just like an old barn ,then the temp would snap and it would basically rain inside including under the hood

Haha, all of the corrosion I see here is green.

aluminum turns a white powdery color it oxidizes itself to protect itself from corrosion, it looks like hell, anything bare i'll coat with diamond clear. or paint it. the manifold itself will be that phosphate green primer color, like an aircraft manifold.

Haha, all of the corrosion I see here is green.

GREEN!?!?!... i call that mold or mildew ... corrosion is when the shiny silver becomes a dull white color and feels rough
