Can anyone write up a quick one about taking it out? Specific details, possibly pictures. Does the dash have to come out completely? I've searched and searched but every recent thread tells me to go to the "how to" that talks about changing the LED's after the climate control is out. All of the older threads' pictures won't show up. The original "how to" (http://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=118) is gone, now. I need to know how to get the actual section out. Does it all come out after the two slider knobs come off?

OK I can't say I have done it on these particular vehicles. But looking at mine, it seems that the 2 vents and that surrounding cover ( trim ) are one piece and are just snapped in. Once that is off ( I have plastic trim removal tools for things like this, a screwdriver would leave marks) you should have access to screws or bolts behind the buttons and sliders ( pic for those are below). But I am sure someone here has done it. This is just my thoughts on it.

PS. While looking at mine, I found a petrified piece of Dorito in the vent, so I got that out.:uh:

I was just at Mike's house and I showed him the petrified crayons in my back side storage things! They were there even at the November meet and I just found them a couple of weeks ago.

I have seen the controls out with the dash in at the JY. So I believe they come out fairly easily.

Are the two 24's and the 22 the only three screws I need to take out?

I don't know. But once that vent cover comes off then you can see. But I have not done it on these vehicles before. Someone on here has to have done it.

There is a how to in the Haynes manual on page 3-8.It says the radio comes out first. Let me try to scan the page for you.

My deck is already out, luckily. :)

Just look it up in the manual on this site. It looks like the plate below the buttons where the sliders are does come off after removing the slider knobs. And there are screws and cables to deal with. Or just practice at the JY before doing it on yours.

I've looked everywhere. There was an actual 'how to' on this, but it's...gone.

You leave it in when you take the dash out, btw. It's a big pain trying to fish those wires back if you don't.
