interesting question, I know everyone has seen the SEI type armrest, but how many have the other type? the taller one where the top opens. I haven't seen that many of them, and I thought it was interesting that it was identical to the JDM crx armrest. I spent two hours hanging upside down in a wrecked car, sawing off seat brackets with a dull hacksaw to get this out. in 100 degree heat and Georgia bugs.

type I'm talking about

can someone put up a picture of the SEi armrest?

Mine is leather and opens up...I was actually thinking about redoing it and keeping it. But I might not.

I have some pictures but photobucket is down right now.

*edit*

Just decided to upload it to imageshack

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y126/labeledsk8r/Picture006.jpgyea i permanently repaired the part where the top section cracks on the bottom. got rid of the plastic buttons where the screws went through and changed it to a solid aluminum plate screwed in from both sides. much stronger. did those arm rests come with nut plates to hold on the second set of screws, or was it screwed straight into the plastic?

Its the seatbelt release warning blah blah. Your supposed to be able to get in/out of our cars without removing the seatbelts (yeah right...)

Ive tried a few times on the hatch and coupe. it would take a man stronger then I to push the door open when the belt is still engaged. I was always curious of how it was supposed to work. It seems pretty self explainitory as use but not as an emergency exit procedure.

^ Stock as in from the dealer I mean, or if someone added it later from another car.
I wish I had pulled it out before I sold it. That and the oem wing.

The button is an emergency release, meaning the seatbelt would still be engaged (say, after a wreck) so you would have to press the button. Otherwise, the seatbelt is loose, and you can supposedly open the door and slide out from under the seatbelt. I for one, cannot do this comfortably, nor can anyone else i dont think.

Yeah mine is a LXI style because its beige cloth that matches my interior. I have a SEI one as well that i am saving for when i convert to a black interior.

Actually just finished redoing one that I grabbed from the junkyard. I have plans of redoing the armrest at some point, but until then I have an old shirt stapled to it. Looks pretty decent if you ask me! Sorry for the crappy cell pics.
