I am currently doing a swap on my 1988 honda accord lxi and was wondering if this head fits my a20 block?

well they both have the a20a3 engines with the prelude having a bit more hp maybe but i think you might be getting jip on this one here since they ask for your old one and sell it again and just say its a SI head

....They are the same engines, the prelude one has no more horsepower than the accord one. The transmissions were different in the gearing, yes, but the motors themselves were identical (in the fuel injected versions).

The only thing I notice is the distributor mount on the right side. On fuel injected heads, there is a stud. Carbed models, like the one pictured, are missing the stud. That makes it real hard to mount the FI dizzie. You can swap the correct mount off the FI head very easily, but you'll want to make sure you HAVE the right mount first.

Yes it will fit. Just make sure you tell them you have fuel injection and need the two ear distributor mount. That one in the picture is the single ear mount for carbed engines. The only other potential difference is that the '86-'87 heads had different intake valve springs than the '88-'89 heads. As I recall the spring rates were comparable so nothing to be concerned about.

Not a bad price really. It would cost at least that much to have your head redone locally.

So to clarify, would an '89 FI A20A3 head work on an '86 FI BT block?
