Not a horrible price. I wonder how they compare to Azenis. I do <3 my Potenza RE11s though. :)

I've heard they're the best in that class of tire. Way better than Azenis. I guess they're supposed to be basically the same as the hankook ventus rs-3 as far as performance. I'm gonna be running hankooks this year at the autocross so we'll see how well they stack up to the azenis I ran last year.

I've been using them for around two years for autocross, no comparison to the azenis in terms of grip. They love heat too, never get greasy, wear is acceptable as well. Their closest competitors are the kuhmo XS & RE-11's

They tend to chunk a little with heavier cars (3,400+lbs) on rough surfaces, but shouldn't be a issue with a 3g.

can someone repost a link or pic? It's missing from the OP.

Paul, when are you going to come down here to CT and get into some of our Auto-X's?

There was no link or pic in OP. I think he was just noting that they are now available in 14 inch size. :) Google it n00b! ;)

Mark, probably sooner then later due to our crappy surface!
We run on the nassau coliseum parking lot, and the surface is just choppy, buckled, broken up asphalt. The 850/280 spring rates & a solid axle don't help either  ex: http://s4.photobucket.com/albums/y143/pj350/?action=view&current=3.flv

Last season a GT3 cracked it's CF undertray as a result of bottoming-out, a miata broke/separated a rear subframe, a sti seized/bent a new c/c plate etc...

Where do you guys have events?

My friend was going to use them in a rallycross 3g, but ended up totaling the car before he could do the rebuild.

im planing to get those after i wear out my dz101s. i love the dz series. the 101s are gripy as hell. I can get those for 50 a piece LOL. i paided total 200 even for my dz101s and i can get the same for the z1's. Problem is. my 101s are way to new yet. I might do a trade or consiment of some sort to get the z1s.

I have a couple of buddys with em that i sold to. They love em. Grip hard. They run em at the track also. Very good tire.

Thats the beauty of beening in the tire business

Not steps, km's... :)

Think of it this way, at the last BMW club autox I did, the only M3's (spanning all 4 generations) that beat me were on R-compounds; I was in my 96' mustang with aftermarket cc plates/springs/shocks/rear control arms. I do very well in terms of ability, but damn those tires stick like glue! :naughty:

EDIT: and by that point, the tires were 3 years old, kept year-round on the car, parked outside (e.g. not nearly as soft/sticky as when new).
