I've been told by a few people that the wheels on my 3gee are rare. I cannot find anything that looks even close, and I've never seen another honda with them on. If anyone could tell me whether I'm sitting on something worth something before I sell this car and regret including these wheels in the sale, that'd be greattt, I kinda like the look of the wheels, I just wish they weren't 13's =/ I need to give them another shot of eagle one mag cleaner, they're getting dirty looking again.

Honestly? Sell them with the car. Sorry if I sound blunt but they do not look of value.

they were not common at all. They were an Alloy wheel upgrade on the '84 Accords (I'm pretty sure it was an '84 option), and later they were also an option available for the '91 (just from memory there) Civic's. ...but that's it.

I do like the look of them too, and also wish they were 14". In fact, I've been sitting on a pair of these still new in the original Honda packaging/boxes in my basement (aka. stockpile of parts).

Are they of any real value? Not really. ...at least not yet. Would I keep them if I had the option of getting a set of 13" steelies w/ decent tires, on the cheap, to just throw on the car if I were to sell it? Absolutely, but I'm a sucker for nostalgia, so take it for what it is.

Post 'em up on the 2G section and see if you get any bites from those guys. Couldn't hurt right?

Mind if I ask why you're selling the car?

Well, the car was a school project, it was given to me, with a blown head gasket and a failed attempt at a "rebuild" (all vaccum lines cut, parts missing, nuts and bolts laying everywhere, and the inside looked like my friend had been living in it for a while) structurally it's sound, but cosmetically, it needs some fixing. I cleaned it up, pulled the interior and cleaned it, bought a parts car with a good engine and bad tranny, and dove headfirst into my first engine swap on anything newer than a mid 70's v-8 car (read: scary!), everything worked great, and it's been my DD for about 2 months now. but about 2 weeks ago, I found a tan '88 LX-i in an alleyway, and it was mine for $250. It's got 176,000 miles on it, everything is tight, solid, and clean. Branded title, but I love the power of the fuel injection, and the power everything options are sooooo nice. It was even factory adapted by a Honda dealership to R134a!
I might just put the wheels and tires on the LX-i then and put some steelies on the blue one, and keep the LX-i's alloys too.

Thank you guys for the info!

ok, so reading between the lines here... You mention the '88 has alloys, so I'm assuming it's a sedan because the coupes didn't come with alloys unless you sprung for the dealer installed option of alloys at a hefty price tag.

That said, regardless of coupe/sedan/hatch, if it's an 88 LX-i those wheels won't fit. In '88 Honda changed the front brakes to a larger rotor and caliper on the LX-i's (and later, SE-i's in '89). This meant the smallest you can go is 14" wheels in order to clear the brake setup.

Pics of the '88 please?

Yeahh, the '88's a four door. That's a bummer. =/ So really... I have no reason to keep the wheels on the 87. =( And I can't keep the brand new toyo's on it either. And the Lx-i's in need of some new tires pretty soon here. they're weather checked and cracked all over from sitting in the alley flat.

I'd take pics but it's pouring down rain here, I feel bad for the guy installing our satellite dish.
