*1986 Honda Vigor 1.8Litre Carb 12Valve A18A Engine*

Can anyone tell me how many litres the trans takes once empty? i use Dextron 3 right?

Ive done a engine swap from a latter accord with another A18A carb and the gearbox is different from mine it has like 2 solenoids? on the housing (what are these?
:sad2:

Thanks all :naughty:

the solenoids are on gearboxes that are in 88-89 models, the 86 doesn't have them, under your drivers seat there will be a trans computer you will need it and the associated wires to run the gearbox properly. or you can do what i did and just not hook them up. it just means the torque converter wont lock up and it will rev slightly higher in top gear but still shifts fine.

nice to see another NZ member

with the fluid the manual says 3 liters if you change the fluid or 6 if you overhaul the gearbox, id go for 2.8 and then check the dip stick and top up accordingly, OR convert it to manual :)

Thanks, yeah all good i found the specs in my book after all that, have put 2.5l in it and all good the torque was still fill. So far so good, does have a little slip between 2'n 3rd when going up hill. :bong:

Shouldn't be too bad has only done 145,000k's.
