I'm trying to get some opinions on engine colors, as most of you know the entire car has an aircraft theme, I have a lot of flat black and aluminum pieces, I need to protect the runners on the manifold from corrosion, This is the theme i'm thinking of with the addition of the flat black pieces and some aluminum of course, but definitely the manifold like this. I need to take it all apart anyway to finish some porting, i may do that next week. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd158/lostforawhile/S4021128.jpg

I think it's cool when parts on the engine match the exterior. Do you know what color the car is going to be?

black and white, i hate white engine parts though, they get dirty so quick
gold and black...
I know you are talking motor but here is an example.

I like the color of Lost's airplane engine pic, reminds me of the shade used on the top of the P-51's engine cover: http://www.fiddlersgreen.net/aircraft/North-American-P51-Collection/IMAGES/North-American-P51-Mustang-Title.jpg
Going to look nice w/ some black & silver engine parts...

tucked what? the hoses? there is no way to tuck hoses, all the wires you see won't be visible
needs moar purple. it would be funny to purposely make that car idle crappy or something, then take it to a mechanic to get it fixed. their reaction would equal my entertainment
There's a nice fighter plane paint scheme (for cars) thread going on over @ GRM, might get some inspiration from it:

Oh i have the airplane part worked out fine lol, just figuring on some engine colors because i'm about to pull the manifold for work, and once it goes back in it's staying in. i'll mask off the entire engine to paint the underhood area.
I even have sidemarkers made of wingtip position lamps, pardon the mess the bumper was off
