Here's my 89 LX that I picked up for $100. So far spent about $300 between brakes and exhaust work and bought a new clutch to install. Thinking of selling it but dunno. Kinda want a CRX and found one for sale for $1200. =/

Yeah I know the tires are bad. The previous owners dogged it out. I cleaned the engine bay. Everything seems to be in ok order except there's a small leak in the valve cover gasket near the cam gear cover.

Oh and those pics are AFTER I cleaned it . . . still looking for a clean CRX or 89 LX-i.

I just don't know what to do with this car. It's in need of so much body work (interior can be steam cleaned back to life). It's mostly in need of a clutch and CV joints in the mechanical department. Ugh so many decisions and so little money.

That car can hardly be categorized as a beater.

Because it's in worse condition than a beater or better condition?

for its age its not doing bad....i think the term beater depends on the person...one persons beater could be someones main ride.

I think a rust repair and primer job would do wonders for it. Along with some 14'' steelies with hubcaps (OEM Honda of course) and stripping the interior to steam clean and vac. Then a Weber. Then saving up and gathering parts for an eventual full paint job and conversion to full injection and a B swap (CRVTEC would be sweet. Lots'o'torque).

Does anyone know the name of the color for this car? It's all faded but it's fresh looking in the trunk, and I like it and want to repaint it.

Medium Blue (B-49M-3)
Astral Blue (B-31M-3)

Paint code should be on the driver door jamb.

I was thinking about possibly going with Tidewater Blue.

I've been shopping around for quotes on body work and rust repair. Best so far is $1800 for rust repaired and standard paint job on car. =/

Agreed I just fixed up my wheel wells with some quick steel* and sanded it down...now I just need to find someone who carries the paint and it'll be good as new, only spent $20 so far:thumbup:

Yeah, I guess I'll just try it myself. Couldn't get any worse, right? Lol I guess I'll try the tiny rust spots first, then work my way up to that big boy. I have an old 93 Mustang hood in my utility room that I could use for practice.

Pics of before and after fender replace. I also managed to reallign the bumper with the turn signal and fender. The bumper screw are so old and rusted I can't even get them out.

Edison Carasio

Nope, she runs. Just needs the clutch and axles now. Maybe a carb rebuild and alignment (due to the ball joints and all being outta whack) and all the probs should be just cosmetic after that. Valve cover gasket still has a leak tho. =/

Put NEW tires and ditched the stock 13 inch steelies with bald tires for 14 inch steelies with NEW tires, new lugs and EK hubcaps.

The previous owners were pot heads who never took care of the car. When I got it, it had one stud broken on the front and I ended up breaking one myself taking the steelies off. They used these crappy lugs that rusted to to the stud. No amount of WD40 got this one loose and it broke. :( :(

http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o46/edisoncarasio/lugnut.jpg

Guess I can add replacing the two studs to my to do list. There were three more like this that lots of WD40 and patience were able to get off.

Here's the new wheels.

Slowly but surely, it's getting there. I replaced the battery last week.

Best of all I picked up 4 new tires, mounted on the steelies, with a set of lugs and EK Civic hupcaps for $75.:thumbup:

I put those on right before it started raining. The rain in the pics makes the paint look so much better. lol Wish the paint looked like that in person, then maybe I wouldn't have to have it painted.

Installed rear splash guards yesterday. Pics to come hopefully.

Edison Carasio

Pics of rear splash guards installed. The driver side needs more work. It has four screws. One that attaches inside the wheel well, and then three for the bumper. On MY bumper on the driver side, there is no bracket behind the bottom hole for the screw to catch, then the splash guard doesn't have a middle hole drilled in it. So it's just held on by two screws on the driver side. Ugh.

Sorry for crappy pics, snapped em on the way out the door to work this morning.
