Transmision grinding

My car is an 88 accord with the auto tranny, when i shift from park to drive or drive to park its fine. But when im in reverse and shift to either drive or park their is a brief grinding sound. It only happens with reverse, I dont know jack about tranny's so here I am.... Any ideas?
