It's an 89 DX with a B16A swap. Does it belong to anyone here?

Damn. I didn't find him in a search for users (Steve89DX that is). He pretty much did the same thing I'm wanting to do and wanted to talk to him about it.

Are you talking about the B-series swap? There's some info in Legend_master's thread (http://www.3geez.com/forum/showthread.php?t=49155), he swapped a B18.

If I'm not mistaken he started with a LX-i and I'm starting with a LX so I imagine things would be slightly different. Oh well, there's enough info on here that I could figure it out. Found a B18B (Integra LS) for like $600 with transmission, and I could later convert to VTEC with a B16A head. I've opened another savings account and have saved $620 so far. I know I'm far off but baby steps.

He started with a DX actually, so he would have some good info for ya. He doesn't come on too much anymore though.

Wow I thought Legand Master started with an LX-i. I know Steve89DX started carb'd. Cool. Just emailed Rywire about a harness. I guess mounts from Innovative and the harness would be a good start and probably crap I could afford now.

I'm really curious how much a Rywire harness is.

i know the obd0 to obd1 adapters for the civics are like $160 so i imagine they wouldn't be too much more

edit: missed -DWM-'s post. $160 was for just the ecu adapter

Here's an email I got from Peter at Rywire:

Your best option is actually the obd1 b16 or ls engine, wiring for the obd0 swap costs nearly the same and Is harder for us to do.
We can do the wiring for $350.
How are you going to mount the engine?

Thanks ~ Peter

$350 is something I would be willing to pay to save myself that much trouble and hassle, to be honest. =/ The knowledge it was done by a pro and not my dumbass would be nice.

His harnesses are very clean as well, so that will be nice.

I think I would rather go with the LS just so I could save a ton of cash. They are a dime a dozen around here. Complete swaps with about 100K miles for $600. Hmmm . . .

Too bad Steve isn't around here, though. =/ Where's Legend Master? Lol he used Rywire. Seemed to work out yell.

Oh and I got an email back from a shop that specializes in Hot Rod restos. Emailed them about rust repair estimate. They are about an hour drive away, but I've seen their work and it's DAMN good and I heard their prices are cheap. Hopefully that goes well! Wanna get the body straight and decent looking before anything else.

Why don't you pm LX-Incredible, he may be able to make you a complete harness. You would have peace of mind that it's right.
