View Full Version : ECU ID numbers not codes

I'm currently swapping my 88 Lxi motor/trans into an 89 LXi coupe, and I'm was comparing the ecu's and the numbers are different. Will I run into any problems by using the 88 ECU??

The 88 ecu is PJO-668

The 89 ecu is PJO-A03 (It's not original I found a receipt for it)

Thanks any insight would help, I tried searching and all I found was the AO3 is Canadian.

You should be Ok with the A03 or the 668.

I have a A03 here (2 of them) and both came out of an 89 SE-i. One is manual, the other is auto.

What does the 668 looks like? Square box or rectangle box?

The 668 is square. I opened them up and they are quite different looking as far as where things are inside. I think I'm going to run the 668 cause that was with my motor originally. I had to swap base plates too cause the 668 is shorter.

Yeah, welcome back.

I think the 668 has an external ROM in it.

Can you take a picture?

Both seem to be the similar.

I doubt there would be any difference in how the car runs.

The only thing that I have are KYB GR2 shocks and struts with stock springs with 15k on them. I'm going to run the CF hood I think but if I change my mind I'll let you know. Havent decided yet.

That's what I figured. I'm just going to run the 668 cause that's what I was running. You interested in another AO3 Carrot?

I'm either going to let it sit somewhere and get lost, or throw it out... So I'd rather see it go to a good home.
