okay thought i'd make a new thread because my old one is kinda getting off topic. but anyway my work on the project so far is here http://www.3geez.com/forum/showthread.php?t=71707

update from that i started stripping my exi so i can pull the wire harness from that and the heater unit. so far i have fenders, bumper, rad, and dash removed. I've also ordered a gasket set, pistons, rings and bearings for the b18. I'll keep pics posted of the build.

udate. pulled the engine from the exi. removed the wire harness from the engine bay, pull pedal box. now just need to strip the rest of the interior to finish taken out the wiring then all be swappin it into the coupe.
Also placed an order for an 8lb xtd flywheel. Also wanna order a clutch not sure what brand to go with. the xtd ones on ebay are cheap and ive read from different ppl on fourms some say they are good and some say there crap. anyway here is a few pics.

after spraying
http://i538.photobucket.com/albums/ff342/gould529/100_0465.jpg

then did some scrubing and gave the firewall a coat of gloss black spray paint

The wet weather been pissing me off not being able to get much done... anyway this morining i went to finish unplugging the wire harness from the interior of the car. mean while up under the dash on the drivers side i came across this. I'm just wondering what it is thanks guys.
sorry for the bad pics.

antenna assembly?

maybe the car has power antenna... there is like a hose coming out of this thing tho? idk

Pico

if it is the antenna, that hose would be the drain

okay thanks. i know the dx does not have this. so i wanna swap the power antenna from the exi on the dx so i just wanted to figure out what this was b4 i got the parts car hauled away.

just wondering anything else you guys think i should save from the car?

so today i started putting the wiring from the exi into the dx. anyway i was wondering if i have to change my back half of the wire harness. like where it unplugs by the drivers door? i compared the plug from the exi to the one on the dx and the one on the dx has 4 extra wires could someone tell me what these are for? one of them is yellow, one is green with a yellow stripe, one is yellow with a red stripe and the other one is blue with a red stripe.

do you have a manual for these cars, either a haynes/helms/chilton? the wiring diagrams are in the rear, it's strange that the dx would have more wires than the ex-i, the dx is a four door right? could have to do with the door sensors, i dunno, but when i get home i can look in the book if no one else has chimed in.

i have one of the real old haynes manuals and i couldnt find it in there.... and no the dx is a 2 door and the exi is a four door. but yeah i thought it was weird that the dx had more wires. i guess im gonna have to trace them. i was really hopin i wouldnt have to change the half of the car grr..

been busy so havent had time to figure out what them wires are for.
but the gas tank on my parts car is in rough shape so looks like i need to find another one. I got an integra tank in decent shape maybe i can make that work?

beran24

working 6 shifts a week so havent had much time to work on the car....
anyway i traced the 4 wires and found that they just run to my seatbelt indicators up by the rearview mirror. havent done much else but remvoed the fuel line from the exi.

once you got that efi fuel line into your car, its just a matter of putting everything back together

haha yeah thats gonna be awhile. still have to wire it for the b18.

things i know i need to do:
-add ecu plugs to covert to obd1
-run wires for o2 sensor
-change dizzy plug
-add wires for the distributor

but what i was thinking. i may sound crazy lol cuz idk if it will work like this but why couldnt i go to the j/y and rip the wiring from a teg that runs from the ecu out into the engine bay and drop it in the accord. sence most of the wires from the ecu go to the engine to me it seems like this would be easyer to do. then everything would plug right in for the most part.?

Sorry its been along time since i've got to do any work on my swap. As of now i got the fuel line all in. Tonight i started test fitting the mounts in the car. I know where the bracket and passanger side mount goes and i know where the drivers side mount goes.
But i got one mount left does this go in the front or the back? The integra engine and trans has a mount on the front but i can't see the swap mount going in the same spot but i looked on the back of the engine and cant seem to see where the mount goes ether? any help on where this mount goes.

Never mind i see in legend master's build that the mount bolts in the back so i guess im gonna have to look at the motor/tranny tomorrow and find where it bolts on at

beran24

turns out im missing the rear bracket the bolts to my mount so i guess im gonna have to go to the junk yard and see if i can get one:uh:

beran24
08-06-2010, 07:31 PM
so i guess same as the place racing mounts these ones also hit the brake lines
http://i538.photobucket.com/albums/ff342/gould529/rear.jpg
Also the mounts use larger bushings then stock mounts so there for larger bolts are needed. And the hole in the stock bracket showen here:
http://i538.photobucket.com/albums/ff342/gould529/driver.jpg
needs to be filed out to make enough room for the larger bolt.

My side mount fit good. I got 3 bolts in it on the top. and there were 2 holes in the mount on the side but no holes on the car so i drilled some. And put 2 bolts in for now. ill probably get this mount welded after i get the car up and running.

havent got any work done on the project in a long time. I started community collage take automotive service and repair. So with that going on money is tight. and keeping grades up and working part time job as well dont allow for much time to work at it. Plus with all the snow in the yard its not to fun lol.

But anyways tomorrow if all goes well i want to strip the wire harness off of the b18 and bring into the basement along with a harness from the exi that ive junked and start working on building one to run in the car. I'll keep it posted as i make any headway with it.

Aslo do any of you know where i may be able to find the rear "t bracket" that the engine mount bolts to. My b18 is from the 92 integra. and on ebay all i been finding is the one for the 94 integra. Any help with this would be great. Anyone if there the same?

you just need a da integra bracket. you could probably buy one new from acura if you wanted.

as for the harness. what exactly are you planning on doing with the b18 harness. there really isn't much to be done with the engine harness part of it. running the extra wires for an electronic advance distributor and maybe extend a few of the current wires. i guess you could take it in the basement but you'd really need the harness plugged in at the car to make sure everything will reach just fine. overall the wiring is really not that complicated.

I've been so busy lately working on another project. Finally getting sometime to get back at this tho. Now im ready to start building my wire harness ive bought an obd-obd1 connector now im just researching on what needs to be done to adapt it to work on the accord, I've got the pins coverd for connector (A) from following legend masters thread. I am now trying to figure out what has to be moved for connectors (B) and (D) here is what i have come up with, if someone wouldnt mind looking this over for me i'd really appreciate it because i've never built a wiring harness before. (I am not sure about pin C9

Almost ready to start building my harness, ive got both accord and b18 harness stripped.
Figured out my dizzy wiring

Dizzy Plugs

ACCORD SIDE---------------------------B18 SIDE
Cyl Sensor Input Orange------------- Cyl Sensor Input Orange
Cyl Sensor Input White ------------- Cyl Sensor Input White
TDC Sensor Input Orange-Blue------- TDC Sensor Input Orange-blue
TDC Sensor Input White-Blue-------- TDC Sensor Input White-blue

ADD 2 wires For Crank Positon Sensor connect them to pins b15 and b16 at the ecu.

Not sure on this next part so correct me if i'm wrong please:

Take the connector from the original accord ignition coil that has 2 wires a black/yellow and a blue wire. connect these to the 2 wire plug from the b18 dizzy.

Could someone give me pinouts for the 2 plugs that come out in the passanger side of the engine bay up by the fire wall, i believe some of the wires are for the map sensor, but i no longer have my black box or a20 engine so i cant really trace them easily. here is some pics of the 2 plugs

If that is a carbed car originally, you can leave them unhooked and tucked in the hole.
I don't use those at all with a weber conversion, but it is possible the MAP and O2 circuits are in that.
I don't have access to schematic at the moment.

yeah the car was carbed, but i swapped the whole harness out from an exi, i basically just need to know where the signal wire is located for the map sensor in the cars harness. I can just wire the power and ground into the other wires on the engine harness.

beran24
08-30-2011, 06:13 PM
the 3 wire plug in the passenger side corner i have figured is for the map sensor by checking pin outs for the accord ecu
wire colors:

red/white----- Pin C15 red/white VCC1 (sensor voltage)
white/blue---- Pin C11 white/blue Map sensor
blue/white---- Pin C14 blue/white sensor ground

As for the 5 wire plug i have not figured it out yet it has:

red/green
2 black/yellow---(1 is for the purge solenoid i think)
White
Red
blue----- Pin B2 purge solenoid( so i figured one of the solenoids on the fire wall from the integra was the purge solenoid so i can wire it to this i believe)

I am not sure where to wire the other solenoid that is conected to the map and puge. on the fire wall. Other than that i only need to figure out how to wire up the fan thermo switch sensor i am not sure how to do so, can i just run power to my fan then run the ground wire from the fan to one wire on the fan sensor then the other wire coming out of the fan sensor ground?

I started soldering together my harness and fitting on the engine tonight tho ill post pics as i go.
