B-Series into a 3G (not jdm B20A)

As you all know Innovative makes B-series swap mounts for the 3G. well my question is how would you wire the engine? has anyone done it or know what to do about the engine harness and cabin harness? any info would help. thanks

well i could answer you but your question is pretty general and vague. what info are you looking for exactly? if you're interested in a supplimental harness lx-incredible could make you one, but for the amount of work it wouldn't be cheap...

basic of it,

adding wires for necessary sensor changes in positions (mostly lengthening and moving)

running wires for differences in sensors/accessories
-changing the dizzy plug to the one for the motor you will be running
-adding the 2 wires for a 4-wire o2 if you're going obd1
-adding wires for the distributor since your stock one is a vac advance vs elec advance of the b-series
-adding wires for vtec if running vtec
-creating a conversion harness to run obd1 if you choose that option (lx-incredible has made these and can make these)
-running wires for a vss if using electronic vss with obd1 (not necessary as a cable can be retained for all and the stock cluster uses a cable driven)

you don't need to change the cabin harness at all as you will be retaining your stock engine harness just adding to it or adding a subharness (what i did with my mpfi swap on my civic) so that it's completely removable. wiring is the easy but time consuming part to do right. really all of the swap is easy just consuming, focus on one at a time.

these are generalized instructions to a generalized question. if you need more info ask specific questions they are easier to answer so we can direct our focus. iirc when one of the members had rywire do it they still had to modify the harness because of sensor locations, so don't waste your money with that noise. do it yourself or pay lx-incredible, hopefully if we can find a cheap enough b-series swap he will get a prototype of one made up so he can repeat the process for the rest of you that are aprhensive to wire your own.

well stat1k that answers my question. I can modify my harness and use a Obd0 to Obd1 jumper to plug in a p28 ecu

yes you can. you would need to modify an obd0-1 jumper completely as well. the pinouts are not really close to anything on the civic, well they're moderate but not exact obviously.

i am going to start working on my 1986 accord dx and i was wondering what engine would be best fit for an engine swap because i want to keep a cable clutch i dont want to switch it over to a hydro clutch but all the engines i have looked at need hydro clutches

try a a20a1, their manual gearboxes have cable clutches (Y) you don't even have to do any extra wiring
