Tell those that you love that you love them, don't put it off any longer.

I was lucky enough to have visited with my Dad earlier this year in January.

He was shot by a lunatic that evidently wanted to shot rather than avoid a confrontation. At least my father shot the son of a bitch in the head, I pray that he dies as well.

I'm in shock, I just need to tell someone, about the greatest man in the world to me.

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- One man has died and the other remains in critical condition after apparently shooting each other in Orange Park this afternoon.

The shootings happened at about 2:30 at a home in the 400 block of Arora Boulevard near Aquarius Circle. Sheriff Rick Beseler said the two men got into an verbal argument and shot each other several times.

Robert Webster, 63, was taken to Shands with a gunshot wound to his torso. He died from his injuries. Charles Ingram, 57, remains in critical condition in Shands intensive care unit following treatment for a gunshot wound to the head.

Police are unsure of the exact cause of the argument, and said they don't know exactly how many times each man fired.

The investigation is ongoing.

The man who shot and killed my father terrorized the neighborhood for years shooting dogs and threatened my mother's dog repeately, pulled his gun on my brothers. Everyone knew he carried a gun. This is why my father applied for and received his concealed carry permit. To protect his family, he prayed he would never have to use it. He just couldn't understand why this man deliberately terrorized my family.

My father was and always will be a great man who gave his life for his family. He served in Vietnam earning a purple heart for his wounds suffered in combat. He adopted me and never ever made me feel anything other than his son. I am proud to call him father and for him to call me his son. Rest in peace Dad, for you are in God's house now.

I hope with every fiber of my being the son of a bitch who shot him dies as well.

I'm really sorry about your dad, you know something is wrong when that guy can walk around with a gun threatening people and no one does anything, He died a hero then because he stepped up when no one else would. he was already a hero anyway because he went and fought for this country and was wounded, all of our soldiers are. he died doing what a soldier does, he was protecting the innocent from the oppressive.

A Soldier's Prayer...
The soldier stood and faced his God Which must always come to pass...
He hoped his shoes were shining Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, you soldier, How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek? To My Church have you been true?"
The soldier squared his shoulders and Said,"No, Lord, I guess I ain't...
Because those of us who carry guns Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent, Because the streets are awfully tough.
But, I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime When the bills got just too steep,
And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place Among the people here...
They never wanted me around Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much, But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was a silence all around the throne Where the saints had often trod...
As the soldier waited quietly, For the judgment of his God,
"Step forward now you soldier,
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

Dedicated To All That Serve... God Bless America!

A soldier is always a soldier, in uniform or not, in war or not, when it comes down to protecting others , they do what needs to be done

Wow Phil, I'm really sorry to hear this. At any rate, there isn't much chance of the piece of shit recovering from a gunshot wound to the head 100%. Fill the hole in your heart with your wife and kids, you won't regret it.

^ agreed.
Sad to hear, I hope you're coping alright. My condolences.
We have the worst law enforcement here. That shit should have been taken care of with the first red flag. Things like that should require manditory psyc evaluations.

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,

He leads me beside quiet waters,

He restores my soul.

He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.

Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.

Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

A great man, my father Robert George Webster (1947-2010)

http://www.news4jax.com/news/23306285/detail.html

This could have been prevented, I blame the Clay county sheriff department for failing to protect it's citizens it was sworn to do.

My father was a peaceful man forced to defend his family and his life. He tried repeately to talk to this lunatic. And it was because of this lunatic my father felt it was nessasary to arm himself. I know for a fact that my father would have never armed himself if he wasn't in fear for his life.

I miss my father. Knowing that he is no longer there to fly home to, to help with the house projects he wanted to finish. Talking with him about life and family. I am glad I was able to thank him for being my father. He adopted me when I was 7. He was 23 and didn't run scared after knowing about me.

I am who I am today because of him.

I love you Dad.

sorry for your loss as time goes it will heal don't be ashamed to let ones tears flow and find something you can horner his memory such as getting together with the neighbors and throwing a block party to thank him for being a good father a good neighbor and for standing up for his country and those who he might of helped in vietnam.

My father was the glue that held his family together, this loss is going to bring hardships throughout our family, I hope I am strong enough to hold them together. I really never thought I would have to step into his role as father. I am afraid.

I can care for my mother, I want to be there for the family as he was. God give me strength.

keep it together man, if you don't you're family will end up like mine.

when i was growing up we had family dances, and got together frequently.

My Grandmother passed away, well to keep it short. It now takes a wedding or act of God for us to get together. :(

I miss my family....

nswst8,

I know neither you nor anyone else on this forum know me because of the

fact that I've mostly been a lurker, but for what it's worth, I'll be praying for

you and your family. This is the most crucial time for your family to be

together, and if you need any more support, I honestly believe that everyone

on this forum will be here to help you if we can.

We buried our father today, he had so many friends who paid their respects at his viewing. I was so proud to stand and greet his friends.

As I was driving away from the Veterans National Cemetery in Jacksonville, FL. I kept thinking of him waving farewell to me. I miss my father.

On a side note, through the grapevine. The A**hole who killed my father was shot through the eye by my father after my father took three rounds and is in a induced coma and on life support.

I am very sorry to hear that your father was killed.

Something to think about I lost my dad when I was 12 to cancer so think to be lucky that you got to know your dad for so long. Try to stay positive side of things. Don't become hate filled like that guy was.
