heres some pics of my 89lx.... with a 86 engine and a 88 tranny... lol... just finished the swap yesterday...

after i washed it taking it to the shop to start to pull the engine and tranny.
engine had a spun bearing and almost broke a connecting rod... and the tranny was missing 2nd gear...

putting back together... also lap all the valves fix any imperfections in the valve seats... and gave all the runners a good cleaning...

deleted egr and what not.. i finally found a use for some jb weld that ive had for 2 years....

i still got a bit of cleaning up to do... might try to tuck some wires and remove some more stuff..... engine runs good and tranny shifts great....

haha... well if you look at one of the pics i don't think it wouldn't be as clean as it is if a guy at auto zone didn't talk me into buying that purple power... that's some STRONG s**t....

purple power is our "checkout challenge" right now lol. its a push item at checkout that we have to "offer" (read- demand that you buy)

that said, i effin love purple power. and i hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that jb weld will more than likely shrink, crack and burn up with all that heat. be prepared for a super exhaust leak.

oh and jb weld melts. i tried using it to plug the extra o2 sensor hole on my pacesetter.

looks that way cause it was still wet from car wash....

well when that happens.... ill have the other mani ready to go in... and it'll be welded or something...

just cut the flare nuts off the original tube, then weld in a short bolt and washer to fill the hole in the flare nut. All you do then is just screw it in because you made a pipe plug out of it.

egr just means exhaust gas recirculation so that means no more hot gases into the intake manifold....when i took mine off i didnt notice anything

Yeah its more of a loss in Emissions.. i think with the carb'd car you might notice a diffrence ... but i dont even remember what the benefits were to having an EGR valve..

Anyway.. you should get the LXI manifold and go custom exhaust. it removes the big fat pipe alltogether and you wont need a weld to hold it on.

You will however still need one of the pipes...
