I have read that the 87 accords came with two different horsepower configurations. One had 98hp and the other 120hp. How do you determine which is which.
Thanks,

^ To put that in better terms:

'86-89 A20A1 (carb'd, DX/LX) - 98hp
'86-87 A20A3 (fuel-injected, LX-i) - 110hp
'88-89 A20A3 (fuel-injected, LX-i/SE-i*) 120hp (+10hp from updated 4-2-1 headers)

*SE-i was in '89 only.

Note: Non-UDSM A20A2 and A20A4 (emission-less version of A20A1 and A20A3, respectively) have even higher power ratings from lack of emissions components.

I kept checking on google and all I could find was that there were two versions, one with lower hp and one with higher. I couldn't find anything that said why there was a difference. I got tired of coming up with the same shit and thought that I would just throw it out there because I knew that it was a rookie question that someone would know the answer to quickly.

I've built plenty of honda's but I've never worked on a 3rdGen one before. These are a whole new ballgame in a lot of ways. I apologize for the stupid question, and I'm not looking to waste time or server space. Just doing some research is all.

That's what a forum is for isn't it bud?

BTW, Ghetto and Charlie, thanks for the numbers, those figures were exactly what I was looking for. I searched on here for a while, wiki, google, and just kept coming up with the same vague info. Just one of those times where you run circles around what you're looking for. I have just started learning about these cars in the last two days, so bear with me. I don't mean to sound stupid, but I'm sure there was a day when everyone on here was looking for that same info. Thanks again I appreciate the help.

indeed. a good example from teh urban dictionary:

Punctuation is a key part of everyday writing. Otherwise the phrase "I helped my Uncle, Jack, off a horse" becomes "I helped my Uncle Jack off a horse". See what I mean?
