When i rev my engine to exactly 2000 rpms, i get this weird scraping noise. Almost like a vibrating noise.... I have no idea what it is, i just hope its not pinging....

Im running 93 octane fuel, and its been doing this noise ever since i got her.

Its something rattling. I think my car does that sometimes too. Its not real noticable, but can you notice it when you hit the gas harder? And it does it when its cold outside!

it always does it... as long as its at 2K rpms....

I always thought it was the piston scrapin sumthin... i hope not... maybe its an engine mount, cause it idles rough too

My heatshield on my catylitic converter rattles. That's fucking sick dude.

As long as its at 2000 rpms, it rattles... thats the only time it rattles...

its most likely a heat shield underneath the car

@ exactly 2000rpm the suction crap (err.. Air Injection system) turns off. If u still have it, just disable it. Pull #15 or #24 vacuum line and plug it (carb side). Or "air suction control solenoid" inside black box is noisy...

anyway, are you sure the noise is coming from the block and not from the heat shield UNDER THE CAR or from somewhere else?
Seems like you are getting different answers not directly related to your problem.
