Yay! I'm a foundation member now. Time to start documenting this here.

So, back in December 2009 I picked up my 89 Accord LX. It was a beat up hunk that I got from a couple of pot heads who were freinds of a freind. They dogged the car out. Never did any maintenance, smoked in it, ate in it, lived in it. It was in a sad state. Disgusting inside. Candy bar wrappers, food and french fries mushed all over. Ashes and cigs all over. I found hot dog package wrappers with the hot dog juice in them!! GROSS!

There was also all kinds of screws and nails because the guy who owned it did carpet laying work for a while. Here's some early pics from after I threw all the garbage away. It also had a busted corner light and crunched up fender along with no clear coat and some Honda rot rust. The tires were bald, the lugs were mismatched and a couple lug studs were broken off. Needed an exhaust from the cat back, brake master cylinder and upper control arm/ball joint. It was smoking too and the engine bay was nasty.

First thing I did was get rid of the shift boot and shift knob. They had lots of resin (which I believe is marijuana tar). Picked up a JDM ITR shift boot and stock integra shift knob.

Here's a shot of the outside:

Sorry, but these early pics were taken on my phone before I did any work.

After I picked all the garbage out of the interior, I vacuumed the best I could and power washed the engine bay. I had a leak somewhere that I thought was the valve cover gasket, but it wasn't. Either way, the engine bay was nasty. Here is the after shots (no before)

Headlight was out too, but the motors still work.

Has some rust that needs to be fixed, and I've gotten a cheap estimate of the rust repaired and primed, sanded and painted for $500.

Next came time to fix the crunched up fender.

More recently, I replaced that mangled up fender. Also managed to fix the gap between the fender and bumper.

Before!

During!

After!

Since then, I've added a set of OEM rear splash guards and 14 inch steelies with EK hubcaps.

Just this past weekend, I stripped the interior. I scrubbed all the plastic pieces and power washed the carpet and reinstalled everything. I'll get pics today after work. Tell me what I should do next!!!!

Just the rust. There's both rear wheel wells and surface rust on bottom driver door.

i would replace the door just like you replaced the fender. and save yourself the $. man i love arizona rust free cars ftw. seems like rust can be expensive and annoying to repair.

The rust on the door though is like no bigger than a tennis ball. I want to respray the whole car too.

This car died a long time ago. On the way to replace the clutch, the transmission blew, something in the cooling system went out. I had no gears, wouldn't start and had coolant everywhere on the side of the highway. I laid it to rest in the junk yard.
