View Full Version : What's a CAI and what can it do for me?

hey guys i already have an accel coil, high performance wires and NGK R plugs gapped out at 0.55... no what's a CAI??? is it like a controled ignition thing? ALSO.. i was wondering what kind of gains one of those ignition control boxes can do.. i think theyre MDS or MSD or something like that... but they're an ignition item.. can you get HP gains or something? or is it strictly the perfomance of the engine? wel thanks guys. ! later

CAI = Cold Air Intake
a MSD gives you a better spark, and yes you gain power from it.

do you know how much power? how much would the mods i have give me? (accel, wires, plugs)

With the Cold Air, maybe around 5 hp give or take.
With the MSD since you have a coil allready and new plugs and wires....maybe 3-7 hp.
but these are all estimates, I cant tell you for sure.
