To start off i had to fight like hell to get the head off a 1987 honda accord dx 2.0 (u.s.a) and i still have the intake attached to the head, the exhaust header is off. i was wondering should i attach ehxaust tohead and put it on becauseof egr tube(witch i cant get off the exhaust) or should i attach it to the car first and then fight the tubes.

also i was wondering the timing belt tensioner can i take out the bolt for that , i left thebottom timing belt cover on and would like not to remove the belt or cover thanks in advance

The EGR tube is held to the intake on the other end by a couple 10mm nuts. Just remove those and replace the gasket behind them. That's the way I've done it each time and it's the best compromise.

Oh, and an engine hoist is a huge help when doing this. If you don't have one/can't borrow one then try a come-along strapped to a garage truss or something.
