Alright guys. After two weeks of fiddling with it I finally got them running, and tuned properly so here's so pics for ya. These are 34mm keihin carbs off of a Honda CBR600. They run way better than my damned 38 weber ever ran, and according to the old butt dyno they give way more power.

Let me know if you have any questions, and I'll see if I can answer them for ya.

and two outside shots just for good measure. please excuse the dirtiness. Haven't washed it since I started messing with the carbs.

So how did you tune them to run on your engine? Did you drill out the jets, replace needles? Also, some VIDS! :D

I've got a wideband O2 setup in my car so tuning wasn't super hard. I ended up fucking around with jet sizes, and now I've got a pretty good collection going. lol. Had to jump up on the idle air jets, and the mains a couple of steps.

idle air I started with 38's and ended up with 42's

and for the mains I started with 120's and ended up with 138's

Didn't end up up messing with the needles too much. I think I need to set them one clip lower since it's got a lean spot in it, but other than that everything seems to run pretty good.

You can't see it in the pics, but I've got the balance tube on the underside of the manifold so that it's tucked away from view. It's tapped for the brake booster, and the vac advance there.

I've only got them synced by ear, and haven't run into any issues, but I figure I'll build a little sync tool, and get them perfect that way.

As for vids I'll see if I can dig out my the video camera for ya sometime this week!

Did you just use generic Keihein bike carb jets or something? Where did you get the bigger jets? I had a hell of a time trying to figure out what jets go in the Mikuni bike carbs I picked up. I found "jet kits" but they were for things like upgraded airbox and exhaust on a bike... I assumed they wouldn't be much bigger than stock.

Yeah they're just keihin jets. Nothing really special about them.

I have a motorcycle dealer down the street from me, and there's a cycle salvage yard not too far away. I just took my jets with me, and told them what sizes I need. They had huge boxes of them in the back in pretty much whatever I needed.

lol yeah. I wanted to get it working before I unveiled the setup. I have a little bit of free time later this week to clean everything up, and take proper pictures, and vids.

X2 on the junkyard. Lots of parts to scavenge from, and the guys working the counter are awesome. Way better than the dealer.
