Pretty cool. Its funny it was a car from Livermore. The guy must of been a film major, lol or just loved his 3G that much. Hard to believe 500K on an 86 DX with a carb. Than an 89 LXi should do 750K lol. Is that guy on our board or what??? If not, we need to get him on here, lol. I nominate him to the post of Minister of 3G Endurance. :bowrofl:

mushroom toy is pushing it at 434xxx,
My LX carb sedan was at 306,000 and still on the same POS carb before I converted it to weber, then later swapped in B20A converted from FI to weber.. sounds like a song to me:naughty:

I had an Oldsmobile with a 2.8 liter V6. I got more than 420,000 miles out of the original engine and transmission. The most invasive work done to the engine was the valve cover gaskets. Lots of other stuff went bad like alternators and water pumps and such but not even the timing cover was ever removed from the base engine. At the end, something went bad in the top of the engine and I decided that I had gotten my money's worth out of the car. Cars can last a long time if taken care of regardless of the make or model.

Only 403k on my LX-i, but I'm working on it :naughty:

Still running like a dream.... prob be awhile before I hit 500k though, as I put 5x the miles on the bike as I do the car. Bike is about to turn 200k

My 2g '85 Accord had 387,000 when I sold it to my cousin in 2008. Have yet to see any other 2g's with that kind of mileage. She's still driving the car, don't know what the mileage is currently. My uncle has a 2000 F150 that's pushing 450,000, has the original 4.2 V6 that's never been touched, he did have to put another 5 speed in though at around 390k.

that is a miracle for real... even getting that many miles out of the crap Mazda tranny in that Full size ford, those just dump the oil with no warning really other than knowledge of the rubber grommets that fall out.
4.2 are udder crap but there are always those like your uncles that make us wonder wtf with the rest of them. cool

500k miles is quite common for a 3G ... In fact it's almost expected if the vehicle is maintained properly.

my lxi died with 170k or something like that on it :( but my parts car had 384k on it... engine was replaced 15k before that due to head gasket though but sitll not bad (and then teh jdm engine blew the head gasket haha)

had a legend with 226k on it.. sold it.. got drivin around town.. got impounded for no registartion (car would never pass smog and was badly wercked)... someone bought it from impound and still driving it around in lancaster with the same november 2008 tempory dmv permit LOL and valencia nissan dealer plates..

also sold my geo metro with 305k

my parents bought a 82 accord in december 02 with 183k... in december 03 when they gave it to me it had 288k.. lol

they also put 200k on a 97 accord in less then 3 years, lol.. and got another 97 accord with 200k on it... took it 255k in 6 months lol...

current 4g accord has 263k on the cluster... technicly has around 300k as the cluster was not working when we got it (who knows how many po put on it) and we put about 10 k on it without it working... put around 50k on it in a year so far lol... not being drivin much anymore right now due to lack of money and 18mpg.. lol

My only 2 3geez:
87: 227xxxKM. Rust took its dignity, its pride, and its LIFE.
89: 161 226.0km when i parked it last night. Did 3418.1KM since i got it in early July.

I guess i have the babys of the bunch hahaha. im lookin forward to another crapload of kms in this 3gee, and hopefully a manual hatch. New cars do nothing for me.
