LETS GO WAY BACK:

The mid to late 80's had some really dreadful music and some good hits. Here's your challenge. Name a tune that either A) Was released the year of your Accord or B) A tune released before the year of your Accord that was on the Top 40-100 charts of the US, UK, or whatever country you are from. It can be any style of music from any country, just something that could be heard playing on your bad ass stock Honda radio at the dealership. :kekeke:

If possible give a link to the song or Youtube video of the song being played!!!

Oh god. Huey Lewis and the News! Epic. I remember my dad had a fuckin' CD player and had this album. He bought the CD player in like 1982. This is actually the first album I can remember ever hearing. No better band for the Accord Time Machine!

And to top it off, this live version has Tower of Power Horns! Fuck yes!

This one was #44 in 1984... Quite an impressive top 100 list!

Oooh and Journey from 1981 - Who's Crying Now. #56.

The 1981 list is not nearly so good as 1984, I have to admit. But how cool would it have been to be rockin' the brand new AM/FM in the 1st gen blasting through the optional rear speakers back in the hatch! Maybe even the premium tape deck in the SE with an amp!

Wow, young crowd. I feel like an old grump...:hmph: Nothing like owning a car that's older than you, but not quite a "classic"

But its not like I was an old man in 88' or anything. I was a young laddy in the late 80's but I still remember the music well and these cars bring it back. :kekeke:

a break up make up song with a nice lead solo nothing special though , so meh EDIT wholly crap I never even rememberd hearing the song till then but it released way back in 78. Just musta been the heartbreaker that got to me at the time. I was good though I had a 84 CJ7 at the time and had a blast.

I was 2yrs old when my 2nd gen was built. One of the all-time greatest 80s songs came out in 1982: Yazoo- Don't go http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VML1u8KJjEo

I used to work with IATSE as a loader/carpenter so I got to see a lot of that backstage drama, either their very nice or very nasty not much in between.
Off topic some I guess, I was there when Bobby Brown was arrested for profanity, also when Tommy Lee was arrested for gettin buttass neked up in the catwalk during a grand finale. good times.
I like all genres and I believe honestly in 86 I was listening to a lot of HWJ, DAC, Skynryd, acdc, bad co. and consuming a lot of Bud.

I'm an I.A.T.S.E. member too. I work in audio, video, and lighting. Sometimes I do audio record, backline, and rarely camera. Mostly A2 work and some mixing as well. Yeah lots of backstage drama! Which local did you work for?

629 but It has been over ten years since I worked any shows, I guess I could go back now hell I havnt even thouight about that in a while. There was a lull in this area for concerts, still is really.. James Brown Arena is just too small.
There are still a lot of shows besides concerts that the guys are working, mostly rigging , loaders, lighting stuff.
Looking back now on those days, I remember one of the most impressive shows I worked was Luther Vandross. Center Arena stage, round, amazing spine tingling sound synth, and the most well behaved crowd ever.

If you can't come up with a good 80's Billboard song for your Accord...choose one of your favorite Albums of all time...has to be full Album...lets hear it?

everyone is forgetting whats probably the greatest mix of rock and hip hop ever recorded. When RUN DMC redid Aerosmiths walk this way from 77. It was released in 1986. the famouse "battle" of the bands.

you young guys won't remember it, but way way before there was ever Law and Order, there was the best police drama ever on TV, there would be no law and order without it. hearing those first three notes on the piano in the theme, will stop most guys my age in their tracks, 81-87 Hill Street bluess theme song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtWjhN86WLU

if anyone wants a digital copy, I have the original on CD with the radio call at the beginning, not recorded off a tv but the original theme
