Hello,

Need your help asap!

My Accord LXI headlights just started opening and closing by themselves, even with the car turned off. What is the reason for this?

Thanks!

Back on topic.
Unplug the switch on the dash that controls the headlight doors.
It's probably shorting out

Where is the switch and what does it look like? How do I unplug the switch and what do I need to do to get it working right again?

Thanks.

The three-button switch to the right of the steering wheel. Use a thin flat-head screwdriver to pop it out from the bottom, and make sure all of the connections are good. If not, replace the entire thing or just the switch for the headlights (the one furthest to the left).

could also be an internal failure in the motor relays and or retractor control box.

I'm a newbie at this. Where are the motor relays and retractor control?

As to the switch, I looked at the two switches, one to the left of the steering wheel, and one to the right of the steering wheel. I don't see how those come out, those look like they go into the steering column.

Ok, I unplugged the switch you were talking about, and the headlights stop opening and closing.

However, if I turn on the headlights with the headlight switch to the left of the steering wheel, they start opening and closing again.

But, if I put the headlights in high-beam mode, then they stop opening and closing.

Well, it would be very on-topic to mention that a search would have gotten you less jokes and better answers. The search box is on the right side of the menu bar at the top of every page. Please make a note of using it in the future.

Actually what I described in my question is not described in a previous question. Pico, Charlie and B20A, your replies were helpful.

Thank you.

You guys need to stay on topic. This has gone way off track.
It's gonna be another thread filled with bs.

You got something wrong with your headlight wiring or the combo switch behind the steering wheel.

If you need the headlights you can pull the fuses for the headlight motors and run them up manualy under the hood. There are knobs on both side right by the headlights.

Have you done any wiring to the car lately like adding in fog lights ?

Your going to have to inspect the wiring to the headlights as well as the wiring going to the combo switch.
