So I have a question that might sound rather noobish, retarded, whatever you wanna call it.
Why dont they make 5 speed automatics? Ive seen 1 5 speed auto and it was in a magazine for old musclecars.. Just curious as to why there arent any 5 speed autos built out regulary. Id rather have the manual myself but I want to know the reason they dont do 5 speed autos..

Id much rather have a manual. I just thought about how I have never seen one before and was like wtf. So I thought something technical might be stopping them. Guess it was just lack of technology

the less parts the lower the chance its going to fail....but auto trans just have high gears.

Actually, in the case of a CVT you have an infinite number of "gear ratios" within the upper and lower boundaries.

they suck, the engine barely revs, it's like driving a vacuum cleaner, engine stays at an almost constant rpm and the car accelerates with the transmission

my hondamatic crx does that if you start off from a standstill, the engine will rev to 2600rpm and stay there and the car will slowly accelerate haha

A lot of cars labeled as five- or six-speed have seven or eight gears. Two sets of like second and third. One set for accelerating, one for decelerating.

Almost every manufacturer has at least one CVT now.

CVT trans's are a different monster altogether, they pretty much dont have any "shift" points
