steelies look sex on the older hondas like 1 and 2gs if you paint them black and have chrome trim rings and center H

but im not a fan of them to much anymore... and definitly not on my nasty ass colored car haha makes it look ghetto and im tired of cops thinking im a drug dealer!!! every night it gets fallowed around by cops until its parked in the drive way then they drive back and forth like 3 times seeing if we were just trying to avoid them -_-

i had steelies on my 3gee though and it looked decent and amazeing that the cops never ever fucked with that car lol... fuckin 4th gens

When I did my rebuild i used "Rock" brand. I almost went with "Top line" brand but rock was said to be of the same quality for a $20 or so difference. But keep looking around for as long as necessary for an excellent quality product cause you don't want to have to replace a faulty seal or gasket 10k mi. or a day down the road. Remember that you get what you paid for so don't go cheep on internals. Also, if you're going to replace the piston rings make sure to hone the cylinders too.

it's not just the h4 housings, hids in all stock honda lights with no projector is not the right way to do it... it's actually worse in ef's and eg's and ek's because of the fluted glass that displaces the light even more so.

it's better output than stock and if you angle them down you're not blinding anyone.

you can't say you hate shit blake, you fucking brag about getting a busted fuckin piece of shit geo. you of all people should keep your mouth shut about most things.

How much were the headlights? Where did you get them? Easy to install?

Headlights were 41 shipped from ebay and its like replacing a light bulb but with wires. should take no more then 10 minutes to do them both but make sure the wires to the ballast don't jam the headlight motor (will overheat and won't work till cooled down).

say you're a not a fan of drop-in hid's because several cars come stock now with hids and projectors. i've never been blinded by a 300c or a g35 and they have hid's.

it just sucks that they've become mad tyte jdm yo... hell i got some :) i'm thinking of picking up another set in my civic to run them in the high beam slot, DOUBLE HID BLINDNESS!

shy, you should replace those balljoints or at the very least the boot, they look toast.

and found this site with the rebuild kit...

Why would you bother? My second coupe had 270k and ran pretty alright...100k is nothing.

if your going to rebuild it i'd buy an engine stand, a torque wrench, a breaker bar, a legit engine hoist, ziploc baggies and index cards, and if youre working outside to pull the motor out but one of those gazebo tent things. itll protect you and your car from rain.

not really and if you ever plan on having to this again you'll save the trouble plus you dont have a certain usage time. and even if you dont ever use them again in your life these things keep there value strongly so you can alway turn around and sell them again. and engine stand is like 40 bucks for a 1 ton (which is plenty of strength seeing how my motor weighed 301 lbs with both manifolds and a clutch on it) a hoist is about 90-120 but will make this job SO much easier and pain free, you NEED a torque wrench for any kind of quality rebuild and it will always come in handy to have one for later on down the road. those are like 20 bucks at walmart. and the breaker bar can honestly be made with a piece of plumbing tubing and a regular rachet (a strong ratchet not a dollar store rachet.) all together you can get these tolls for around 200-250 bucks and youll have the best set of auto tools any DIY'er could ask for. its worth it dude trust me. just remember that its better to do it right the first time than to mess up and have to redo stuff.... like me and my windshield, and all misc things.

Well I'm doing relocation for the fuse box and will not be keeping the black box for the engine but will be going obd1 when I get the fixed.

I've been thinking of just replacing the head gasket then doing a rebuild on the motor.

I'm selling my transmission to Ace to help him keep his car for school since I seen him put a lot of work in the car.

Well that's all for my update ill be posting in the weekend on the progress thanks for reading.

Started to do the relocation for the fuse box and removed powersteering and im having trouble taking out that long hose that connects to the back bottom. should i cut it of is there a way how?

ok so i read everything for the OBD1 conversion and so far looks like alot of hard work and looks like it may take some time to do but im gonna do it anyways since im free on thursday's thru sunday.

so heres the thing...i dont know which ecu to use. i been looking at the P75 and using the GSR distributor and making my own harness unless someone on here makes them to sell i would like to buy one.

any input would be great :D

i had a fail like that with the cam belt, when I installed it, i forgot to put that little round thing that goes over the crank thing before you put the crank pulley on. that made the belt come half way off the cams and cut a hole in the plastic belt covers. i prolly make no sense, but if you pull off the pulley and the belt cover, you will see one on the other side of the belt on the crank, you'll just need one of those, easily pocketed from a junkyard

alright i manage to loosen the screws and gonna start to change the head gasket but before i do that im gonna check how milking the oil is and see if there is any damage to the piston rings. hopefully to take the off the auto transmission sometime later down the week completely and sell it. is there anything else i should look for relating to a blown head gasket?

previous owner told me he changed everything but the head gasket.

the trans it self is just a baby sitting at 102k. looking to trade if someone has a 5spd laying around that doesnt want to use it. just looking for one with less than 200k on the trans. prefer everything for the swap and will be happy to pick up if local. just name the asking price.

how so?

everything worked as i planned like it would and the only 2 problems i had with it would be the water getting in there. its not gonna be like it is in the pic its gonna be mounted upside down and 2nd is getting to the fuses which isnt a big deal for me. just want more room on the engine bay.

Well, I don't know how your weather is but it's not like you can just "stop" driving if it rains. Unless you have another car at your disposal then ok, but how do you plan to keep water out of there? What happens when a fuse blows? You have to take off the bumper? Damn.. that would suck.

I like the idea of moving it for the room but I'm just not sure about that spot. I plan to move the box as well, but I am going to put it under the dash so it will have no contact with weather and I will still easily be able to change a fuse if needed.

the weather over here is ok just the rain is my only downfall on this project. and to answer your questions:

1.well the coupe is not gonna be a DD like my sedan is and im still thinking on how to protect the box without any water getting in there. i might go what messy said and start from there to see if i can add anything else.

2.If a fuse blows ill remove the mud guard from under the fender and remove the wheel and yeah i know it looks like a alot of work but i dont mind.

i like your idea better but finding a location to put the box will be harder unless you already removed the ac components and other stuff. i plan on keeping my ac as it gets hot as hell here in summer so that wont allow me to put it there. im not that good with wiring at all :dunno: where i would start.

but it the sock does work and doesn't get water in there when im washing the car then its all good with me :).

Um i Need a huge Favor Fellas,

I got this Black Prelude wing off a 91 and notice that is probably like a inch and a half longer. i was Wondering 3G members that have the original oem rear spoiler could give the size of the wing and how far are the holes from the trunk edge to edge and center. this will help me out on where to set the wing in a proper way without it looking like crap.

i have a couple pics with it on it but not secure, it sucks that it curves at the ends.... i found another one on a prelude that look similar to a 3g oem but the bastards broke the shit out of it. i was gonna in stall the black one on the 4dr and the red one on the 2dr but oh well. i guess the 2dr will keep the black one and i will make sure the wing will look good with the car :D.

:thumbup::thumbup:this is an awesome effin wing. i think i know what i'm lookin for at my next trip to the junkyard. the lines of the wing are perfect, that looks better than a 4g spoiler any day (and it's not even mounted yet!). this to me is a very sublte mod that is absolutely dead on w/ upgrading the 3gee's appearance.

Thank you, im gonna mount it on tomorrow since i can't do anything till i get jack stands.

ok i unbolted the head and header is off completely.

i was wondering if it would come off with the intake manifold still attach or would i have to remove it as well to get the head off?

the head moves but i can't get it to lift up unless its that heavy to lift? im guessing it weighs like a 100 lbs?

well any info on taking the head off would be great the sooner i get it off then i can work on the head gasket and piston rings. thank you for any input.

I meant the rears. All front mud flaps from all years, trims, and bodies are the same. The rears differ. Coupes have their own, hatches have their own, 1986-1987 sedans have their own, and 1988-1989 sedans have their own (trust me, I had to deal with this).

By the way, hatches never got the facelift bumpers. ;D

i cleaned up little pieces of trash from the old gasket in the cynlinder walls then i installed the head back in.

i just gotta put everything back together and work on the transmission swap and she will be ready to go. should be ready in a couple months and ill snap some pics of it in the road and rolling shots when i meet up with Mike and see his se-i. oh and Shyboy is getting another coupe very soon so no more Sedan :D. even though it hurts me to sell my first car but my uncle is gonna buy it so it will remain with the family haha.

ShyBoyCA6
04-25-2011, 09:11 PM
Putting everything back together well mainly the motor cause i dont want to get parts or screws messed up. having trouble getting that hose on top of the VC back in place :( dont really want to remove the head again just for that so im gonna bust my ass off to get it back underneath the intake mani. almost done getting that done.
http://i981.photobucket.com/albums/ae295/Prettyboi_22_/IMAG0088.jpg

this is when you got nothing better else to do lol i ordered white LED bulbs but turns out out with the tint or what ever you call it is blue so it gave like a purplish blue look which doesn't look to bad. for the record my favorite color is purple lol.
http://i981.photobucket.com/albums/ae295/Prettyboi_22_/IMAG0089.jpg

ive been thinking since i have no header or exhaust im just gonna turbo the bitch and get it done with. but i dont think turbo will go with a 102k motor since its still a baby itself. so ill wait till i get it up to 110k. Gonna be in the market for a turbo header and will need help when i start with the build. i dont plan on pushing big numbers like most guys do on here for 2 reasons. one cause its a weekend driver and 2 cause i dont wanna be having to put alot of money for parts since its really hard to find anything in the market for these cars. so my range for HP would be 200 or 210hp. first is to push as much from the motor and the rest turbo. Also how do i get the timing belt back in place i never done that before but i have done the timing for it. do i need a special tool for it?

Tdurr
04-25-2011, 10:36 PM
as far as the t-belt goes, i just made sure my marks lined up, got a super small flathead screwdriver slid it under the belt and just over the edge of the gear, and got it on the cam gear like 3/5ths of the way then had a buddy turn the motor via crank pully and just pushed it on. it takes like 10-20 min to do it with alot of cursing but it works(if u didnt take the whole belt off)

and as far as turboing the car goes, its gonna cost u well into the ranges of 3-4k fyi.

ShyBoyCA6
04-25-2011, 10:52 PM
I will try that and also tdurr um my tbelt goes off to the side and rubs against the cover any idea where I can find the guidence for it?

3 or 4k huh? Well never said it was gonna be cheap but its worth it for this car. I just gotta get another job to see any more improvement for this project. Thanks for the info.
