So, I took out the engine of my accord just this last weekend. I am planning on rebuilding it stock. I thought it would be simple to remove the engine but it took me two days.

yup they can be a bit tricky if you're not used to them

When I was visiting my mom in NY a couple of months ago, I saw two PR kids taking the hood of an old Honda. When I came back 45 minutes later they had the engine on the side walk. They did not have a real garage, the car was just parked on 130th street and Broadway.

So, When I was told by my mechanic that my Honda needed rings I thought that I would be easy to take out the engine. but it took me two days. Things I learned

Use a 3/4 in drive to break loose the wheel nuts...the 1/2 in drive will snap off
Those arms under the shocks... you just hit them hard and they fall off
all the vacuum hoses are all ready labelled go figure
The shift cable is held in with two bolts that are all the way under the shifter.
and last but not least...
Put the car back on the wheels and lower it before you try to hoist the engine out. Believe it or not I got the engine completely out, but it wouldn't clear the engine bay. I had to put it back in, and lower the car and then hoist it out.

Sounds like you learned a lot, which is good. Don't feel so bad. I think it took me three days to pull my engine. It took nearly two years to get it running again. But it runs good now. Don't worry about how long it takes, just make sure it runs good when you're done.
