Going on my coupe. Do I use the stock jdm duckbill, Stock usdm spoiler oem, stock jetta 3 spoiler which adds a sleek long stretch to the lid making the car look the most sporty, sell all and go mugen? Help me out, I started buying and just cant stop. The duckbillo is the most low profile and also the second hardest to find. the usdm OEM spoiler looks alright but doesnt stand out well at all. The jetta is my favorite but adds a long back end to the car and makes it look like its moving fast even stopped. The mugen being the highest priced, hardest to find and overall most valuable, do i really want to risk it on the streets. Help me out. Mike

the one? I have 3 and only one trunklid. Ill see what I can do. There not the right colors just yet. Im afraid to use the mugen. The taiwan guy had one and some jackass took his mugen badge off it. Thats crazy. My coupe is being themed around a true jdm car. Ive installed almost everything I can find with a huge aspect on performance. From The AEM front and rear big brakes, the b20a, dc everything and a bunch in between.

have you thought about using epoxy to attach the emblem? if it won't come off they can't steal it,

Well let me know when you decide on which one to use. I would like to go with a real sharp spoiler on the lid of my coupe. Lets see some pics. :stick:

use the one I sold you. It's old skool, but it fits our cars. I'd pay to see that damn thing on a 3G.

Not using the duckbill, not using the factory style either. if I do any it will be the one I got from mark. I will post them for sale if the current deal falls through on the duckbill. The oem one is painted seattle silver mettallic. brand new never installed and for sale

yes its the 4th gen design. Ive got about $400 into it with the paintwork and everything. Willing to take a loss though. Make me an offer. Im sending the pics out now. I didnt have time to take the car out of the garage and wash it like I had planned. You will see blue painters tape securing the spoiler to the car. This is just because the spoiler itself wants to fall off. I tried to take pics of the angles that look good and the ones that I would change a bit. Its dark and I tried various different light sources but lets see what happens. I will try to take better ones as people ask for different angles and such. I have no photograpgic skills at all, unloess it involves sex, Im the man at that stuff!!!!

i think i see a flaw here or is it just me? kinda seems to pass the trunk lid?

charliekuney
11-21-2010, 03:11 PM
No: the OEM spoiler he's talking about is from a fourth-gen Accord with the LED center tail light. I think a few 89's got that spoiler, though.

Ill take a better pic from the top down. It matches the outer lines exactly, the lid is matted as well it just has an upwards tilt on the bottom edge near the points not seen from the top or sides, you hyave to be down looking up to see it. I think charlie should head up and see it in person. Hes anal enough to give criticism for everyone. I need to pull it out and get a pic of it from a distance. It really makes the car look sleak and fast which it would be if Id stop tinkering on it already

I have one question about that one pictured: How does the trunk open? It looks like that spoiler mounts to the body, but the trunk doesn't look like it would clear.

mykwikcoupe
11-23-2010, 07:15 PM
I thought if anyone, you would have noticed that. Thats one of the things I would have to change. The only change would be a small addition to the mount on the outside. Any fiberglass shop could do it no problem. The factory mount in the upper position is in the trunk seal area. Not a bad choice but not ideal either.
